Tropical Storm Pedring - PAGASA Weather Update September 26, 11 a.m.

Tropical Storm Pedring: Severe Weather Bulletin Number 7, issued at 11:00 a.m., Monday, 26 September 2011



At 11:00 a.m. today, Bagyong "PEDRING" was upgraded to typhoon intensity as it gained more strength and threatens Isabela-Aurora Area.

Bagyong "Pedring" is estimated based on satellite and surface data at 350 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora (15.5°N, 125.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and is moving West Northwest at 17 kph.

Tuesday morning: in the vicinity of Casiguran, Aurora

Wednesday morning: 180 km West Northwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur

Thursday morning: 540 km West Northwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur


Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signals are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 15 - 25 mm per hour within the 650 km diameter of the typhoon.

Typhoon Pedring is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring scattered to widespread rains over Southern Luzon and Visayas.
