“How Do You Know” - A New Comedy That Asks Questions on Love

The title question in Columbia Pictures' new romantic comedy “How Do You Know” is the most important one most of us will ever face, and as the world gets more complicated and disconnected, it’s harder to answer than ever.

We all have, at some point, a feeling that everything we’ve depended on we can’t depend on anymore. And when that happens, the only thing we have left is love,” says Oscar-winning director James L. Brooks. “You can think your life is terrible, and then he or she walks in and it’s not terrible anymore. That’s it – love is our saving grace.”

“How Do You Know” is a comedy about people in transition. Lisa's (Reese Witherspoon) athletic ability is the defining passion of her life, having been her focus since early childhood. When she is cut from her team, everything she has ever known is suddenly taken from her. George (Paul Rudd) is a straight-arrow businessman who is accused of a financial crime, even though he's done nothing wrong. Although he may be headed to jail, George's honesty, integrity, and unceasing optimism may be his only path to keeping his sanity. George and Lisa meet on the worst day of each of their lives: she has just been cut, and he has just been served. When everything else seems to be falling apart, they will discover what it means to have something wonderful happen.

Brooks says that the project began simply. “I was driving by some ball fields, soccer fields, and filled with women and girls, all ages, and I thought, it’s been a while since we’ve seen a female jock heroine. And I’m a research nut, so that started me on a year of talking to great female athletes.”

There’s maybe five minutes of softball in the movie, but it informs Lisa's whole character,” says Brooks. “I have a rule in research: the third time I hear something, it’s generally true. This time, every female athlete I spoke to said that it takes another athlete to understand how much time they have to give to their sport. They can’t go out, they can’t go to the party, because they’re playing, they’re honing their skills. It’s very hard for a man to understand that if he doesn’t share it.

Jim's voice is unique,” says producer Julie Ansell, who has been Brooks’ producing partner for 20 years. “He has insights into people - when he writes something that touches on something you’ve experienced in your own life, you think, ‘That’s it - I couldn’t have put it into words, but that’s how I felt.’ It hits you deep inside.

He writes about real people, real dilemmas they face,” shares producer Paula Weinstein. “His characters are complicated, difficult, confused, human, flawed, funny, and true. Watching his movies is like reading a great novel that you don’t want to end - you just want to stay in their world a little while more.”

No one writes dialogue the way he does,” Ansell continues. “He wants to get into his characters so deeply that sometimes we spend two years doing research, talking to hundreds of people for each character.”

Jim gets an idea for his characters, then he wants to find out what’s real, what’s true,” concludes Weinstein.

Opening soon across the Philippines, “How Do You Know” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.

'Charice Home for Valentines' on GMA-7

Charice is currently in Manila to shoot a TV special for GMA-7 called "Charice: Home for Valentines".

The taping is scheduled today, January 31, and she is expected to perform with Ogie Alcasid, Rachelle Ann Go and Elmo Magalona.

Very excited po ako at very thankful ako. Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat kasi lahat sinuportahan ako. Hindi porke’t gagawa ako ng TV special dito, dun na po talaga ako. It’s not like that kasi kahit papaano sa kabila rin, binigyan nila ako ng opportunity.” Charice said on this project.

Charice was supposed to shoot "Charice: Home for Christmas" on GMA-7 last year but because of her stomach flu it had to be postponed and changed to Kapuso Network’s offering this Valentine season.

"Dapat Christmas pa po 'to pero unfortunately, nagkasakit ako. May lumalabas kasi na sinadya ko raw i-cancel pero hindi naman nila alam kung ano talaga ang nangyari. Ngayon na bumalik ako, ito ang patunay na gagawin ko naman talaga," the young Pinay international singer clarified.

"Charice: Home for Valentines" will be aired this coming February 13, 2011 on GMA-7.

Ai-Ai delas Alas Gets Guaranteed Contract From ABS-CBN; Can You Guess The Amount?

Aside from Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, the Comedy Concert Queen Ai Ai delas Alas also signed a guaranteed contract with ABS-CBN.

Guaranteed contract means regardless if a talent has an existing TV project or not, he/she would still receive a talent fee stipulated on his/her contract.

In the case of Ai Ai, there is no doubt that her talent fee is just not a measly 6-digit amount but millions per month. However, Ai Ai refused to tell the exact figure when asked about it. The comedy actress said that she will be receiving enough to make her feel happy and comforted, for she will no longer be thinking of where she gets money for her daily needs.

There are rumors telling that Ai Ai would be receiving nearly P10 million from the guaranteed contract with ABS-CBN. However, the actress has again, denied this buzz. She said that the network’s offer is not really that much. According to Ai Ai, the guaranteed contract with Channel 2 is just supplemented to her existing contract. And she considers all these a blessing from God.

Next month, Ai Ai will be heading to China with Kim Chiu to work on their new TV series in ABS-CBN entitled, “Binondo Girl”. She will also be working soon on a new movie, seoond of the three-movie picture contract she signed with Star Cinema.

Aljur Abrenica's Machete Diet Workout

To give life to the role of Machete - an ancient Ifugao warrior who transforms from a wooden sculpture into a man every night - one needs to have rock-hard abs and a chiseled physique. Other actors may balk at the prospect of incorporating a punishing workout into their already jampacked schedule, but Aljur Abrenica isn’t one of them. He tells Men’s Health Philippines as he graces the cover of their February issue, "Ang title ko sa ‘Starstruck’ eh ‘Ultimate Hunk,’ so kailangan ko ‘yun i-maintain. Kailangan ko panindigan."

It may be difficult to make his workout fit into his schedule, but Aljur is passionate about working out and is determined to maintain his impressive physique. "Kung pwede talaga everyday. Kasi hindi mo alam kung kelan ka makaka-gym ulit dahil sa schedule… Sa set mismo, nag-a-abs exercises ako. Military press din, nagdadala ako ng dumbbells para kahit papaano, nakaka-work-out," he says.

Aljur’s long-time personal trainer Billy James Renacia says, "The best thing about Aljur is that he has discipline and motivation to achieve his goal, always… He has always wanted the role, [so] we’re doing conditioning training for Machete… this training is difficult even for Aljur because he has a lot of things to do for the show but he still manages to do his workouts."

How does Aljur maintain a body worthy of the role of Machete? Check out "The Machete Workout" and read more about Aljur’s rise to stardom in the February issue of Men’s Health, available in newsstands and bookstores nationwide.

Piolo Pascual Admits Three-Month Relationship With KC Concepcion on The Buzz

Ultimate Heartthrob Piolo Pascual had just confirmed his three-month relationship with UN Ambassador Against Hunger and fellow Kapamilya KC Concepcion which she calls "Princess" as term of endearment.

According to his interview with Charlene Gonzales on The Buzz' "Straight From The Heart With Charlene" segment, they became real-life sweethearts last October 21, 2010.

Read below the excerpt of that interview:

Piolo Pascual: I've come to a point in my life na mas gusto kong magpakatotoo regardless of what people might say, regardless of people’s judgment or opinion, i guess because the person deserves it. I guess because i just owe it to myself, i owe it to the public and i owe it to that person.

Charlene: Piolo this is your chance. Be honest. Kayo na ba ni KC Concepcion?

Piolo: Yes!

Charlene: Piolo…that is something…that is something everybody wants to hear. And i am so happy for the both of you. How do you feel? It’s liberating isn’t it?

Piolo: It’s very liberating, siguro what I’ve to deal with is a…sorry I just have to expound on this. The reason why I never admitted naman or not elaborate it because may pinoprotektahan ako. You know how it is, I have a son na hindi mo makasama. Ayaw mong mapariwara ‘yung bata, ayaw mong magkaron ng ibang reaction kasi bata ‘yun, he’s only 13 years old. But I think I decided at this point na kung ano man ang magiging reaction ng anak ko from here, we just have to deal with it.

Charlene: And you’re at age and you’re son is of at age as well.

Piolo: And siguro para matigil na ‘yung mga nagpaparinig kay Kristina joke! (He must be referring to Azkals’ Phil Younghusband, Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas and Rhap Fernandez who publicly expressed their admiration on KC Concepcion)

Charlene: Teka muna na-guilty naman ako kasama ba ako diyan, hindi naman di ba?

Piolo: Hindi naman, marami kasi ang nagsasabi na may gusto raw sa kanya pero I guess they just have to know that we’ve been together…

Charlene: For how long?

Piolo: Since last year.

Charlene: Kelan ang anniversary niyo?

Piolo: October 21.

Charlene: How did you get her to say yes? Ano ginawa mo?

Piolo: It took me 2 years. We’ve been going out for 2 years…tsaka na ‘yung detalye pero siyempre that’s one of the best days of my life.

Charlene: And how did you feel when she said yes?

Piolo: Siyempre na-relief. For the first time in so many years, more than 8 years, I’m getting into a relationship, a commitment, and I plan to keep it.

Charlene: Is she the woman that you would like to spend the rest of your life with?

Piolo: Siguro hindi naman ako aamin ng ganito o hindi ako magte-take ng risk kung sa tingin ko hindi ko gusto siya makasama habang buhay.

Meanwhile, KC indirectly confirms Piolo's revelation on The Buzz through her twitter account . She said, "Thank you to all those who are ever supportive of me and piolo..those who have been there from the very start, kasama kayo sa journey namin."

Ogie Diaz Sends His Apology to Charice; Charice' Camp Snub His Apology

Entertainment journalist-host-talent manager Ogie Diaz who expressed his disgusto on Charice' fashion sense and behavior towards local press, sends his apology to the Pinay international singing sensation.

Ogie said he is sorry if Charice, her family and her fans, got offended by his opinions, "Kung naka-offend ang opinion ko marapat lang na mag-sorry ako," he said.

Ogie also said that he recognizes the fact that he cannot please everybody. He asked all the fans of Charice, though, to spare his own mother from criticisms since the latter has nothing to do with his personal opinions on Twitter.

However, Ms. Raquel Pempengco, mother Charice, said the she cannot do anything if the "Chasters" get mad at him because of what he said against Charice.

You cannot blame all Charice fans, especially ‘Chasters’, to speak out what’s in their mind against you Ogie D....You cannot blame them if they won’t accept your apology because of what you did to their idol.

"Because as you said ‘Ogie Diaz,’ they have their own opinion and that’s their opinion too...," she explained.

On “E-Live” yesterday, Ogie acknowledged that he cannot do anything if Raquel Pempengco could not accept his apology because he understands where she is coming from.

Gusto kong intindihin si Mommy kung saan siya nanggagaling. Kung siya ay galit sa akin, wala rin naman akong magagawa,” he said.

Ogie made a remarks on his Twitter last January 25 that Charice’s nerdy eyeglasses “looks so ugly on her.” He also slammed Charice in his column for “acting like a foreign artist” in the Philippines to the extent of snubbing the press after her “1@11” concert at SM Mall of Asia.

Ogie's negative comments has drawn blast from Charice' die-hard fans, collectively known as the Chasters. They lashed back at Ogie and vowed to boycott all his projects.

Diaz already deleted all his tweets regarding the singer. He has more than 94,000 followers on Twitter.

Meanwhile, in her official Twitter account, Charice thanked all her supporters who backed her despite the negative things that were said about her.

Maraming salamat sa lahat ng taong nagtatanggol sa akin sa lahat ng negative na lumalabas. :) God bless you all and love you,” she posted.

ABS-CBN To Launch New Noontime Show on February 2011

After 'Pilipinas Win na Win!' the Kapamilya network is again working on a new noontime game show which will premiere on February 2011.

The still unknown noontime game show will be hosted by John Estrada, Randy Santiago, Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla and Toni Gonzaga.

Except for Toni, the three other hosts were part of Willie Revillame's previous noontime game show on ABS-CBN. Mariel used to Willie's co-host in "Wowowee". While, John and Randy were Willie’s co-hosts in "Magandang Tanghali Bayan".

Although no formal announcement has yet to be made by ABS-CBN executives about this new show, it already created a stir when Willie lambasted John live on air during his birthday celebration on "Willing Willie". According to Willie, this show, if ever it pushes through, will put their friendships in danger. He even threatened John that he will make sure this show will not rate by personally encouraging the viewing public to watch Eat Bulaga! instead (CLICK HERE FOR RELATED ARTICLE -> John Estrada and Randy Santiago To Host ABS-CBN's New Noontime Game Show; Willie Revillame Mad About It).

Yeng Constantino - "Wag Na" Music Video and Lyrics

After her highly successful single “Jeepney Love Story,” Yeng Constantino has again released a new song and music video which is rapidly climbing up the MYX Daily Top 10 chart titled “Wag Na.”

Wag Na - Yeng Constantino:

Mabigat nanaman ang hikbi
Parang pelikula
May kirot at hapdi ang ngiti
Pilit kinakaya

Pwede mo naming gamitin
Ang panyo ko
Alam mo yan
Kahit wag mo nang ibalik
Wag lang makita kang nagkakaganyan
Wag na

Wag ka nang mangamba
Wag magalala
Luha'y huhupa
Kahit masakit pa
Parang bibigay na
Luha'y huhupa
Ibabaon din
Ng panahon
Mga luha mo ngayong
Iniipon
Wag na

Nabibingi sa linya mo
Wala kong marinig
Kundi patak ng luha mo
Dito sa sahig

Pwede ka naming sumigaw
Kahit sa mukha ko
Alam mo yan
Laway mo'y di iindahin
Wag lang makita kang nagkakaganyan
Wag na

Wag ka nang mangamba
Wag magalala
Luha'y huhupa
Kahit masakit pa
Parang bibigay na
Luha'y huhupa
Ibabaon din
Ng panahon
Mga luha mo ngayong
Iniipon
Wag na

Pwede mo naming gamitin
Ang panyo ko
Alam mo yan
Kahit wag mo nang ibalik
Wag lang makita kang nagkakaganyan

Kahit masakit pa

‘Kapit Bisig Para Sa Ilog Pasig’ Launches 'Run for Pasig River 11.20.2011'

After breaking the Guiness World Record for footrace via the 10.10.10 Run for Pasig River, ABS-CBN Foundation’s Kapit Bisig Para sa Ilog Pasig (KBPIP) is now gearing up for this year’s biggest eco-footrace, the “Run for the Pasig River 11.20.2011.”

Representatives from schools, companies, armed services, government agencies and communities gathered at the ABS-CBN Foundation Building on January 28 to witness the launch and to pledge their support for the event.

ABS-CBN Foundation managing director Gina Lopez also presented the Guinness World Record certificate for the most number of participants in a racing event. With 116,086 runners in the official count, the 10.10.10 run easily beat the record previously held by the 1988 “Bay to Breakers” run in San Francisco, USA.

For a country that has been colonized for 400 years, to do this run in magnificence and peace is a great achievement,” Lopez said. “If we are to do the run again and again, this will be a major force in making the river clean,” she added

The 10.10.10 run was organized to raise consciousness for the rehabilitation of the river and its tributaries. Proceeds of the 10.10.10 Run for the Pasig River will be used to rehabilitate Estero de San Miguel, one of the five tributaries behind Malacañang that flow into the Pasig River.

Through KBPIP, ABS-CBN Foundation and its partners have focused their energies in rehabilitating Estero de Paco, a 2.9-kilometer tributary of the Pasig River in Manila. To date, the project has resettled 1,216 families to Calauan, Laguna, introduced remediation technologies for water quality improvement, trained community volunteers for the River Warriors program and shared sound waste management practices with communities.

Lopez urged everyone to take a stand and join the run. “There is nothing that can stand in the way of a people united for a noble cause,” she said.

Last year’s race organizers - Eric Imperio, Darryl De Leon, Rio Dela Cruz and Thumbie Remigio - who were also present during the launch, will take charge of the Run for the Pasig River 11.20.2011, which will be held at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

ASAP Sessionistas Mentor Star Power Final Five

As the grand finals on February 20 come near, the Star Power 5 is wasting no time to prepare, learn more and focus on their common goal to become Sharon's Next Female Pop Superstar. Only one of them, however, will make it to the top and be hailed the grand champion.

This Sunday, January 30, on Star Power, after Rated K on ABS-CBN, the girls are again set to undergo rigorous coaching and training. This time, ASAP Sessionistas Duncan Ramos, Richard Poon, Sitti, Nina, Aiza Seguerra and Juris will mentor the girls.

Monica, the Charming Biritera of Leyte, still can't believe that she'll once again have a face-to-face encounter with handsome crooner Richard Poon. She said that besides Richard's innate looks and charm, the talented Sessionista can definitely share a lot to them, especially on singing techniques and performance strategies.

Krissel, the Soulful Diva of Davao added, "Super excited po talaga na ako i-mentor kami ng Sessionistas, especially ni Richard Poon. I'm very sure na we'll learn a lot. Lahat kasi sila sobrang magagaling."

Not only the Sessionistas are expected to rock this Sunday's Star Power. Acclaimed Hitmaker/songwriter Rey Valera is this week's guest judge. Will the girls make it to Rey's standards?

Meanwhile, Angeline, the Pop Belter of Manila, is overhwhelmed that the Star Power Final 5 had a lot of nationwide exposures recently. One of it is the well-attended Kapamilya Karavan in Iloilo's Dinagyang Festival last week. With the warm welcome they received from the Karavan, there's no doubt that they've made it to the hearts of the Ilonggos.

"The crowd here is so overwhelming. I still can't believe we have this much supporters. Sobrang na-appreciate ko talaga silang lahat. They're very warm and hospitable. If I could stay here longer, I will," said K-La, the R&B Sweetheart ng Canada.

If there's one thing Akiko, the Sweet and Sexy Siren of Cebu, would like to be thankful for, it's the chance she had to visit her neighbor province, Iloilo. "Kahit na from Cebu ako, marami pa din akong naiintindihan sa dialect ng Ilonggo. Kaya naman nakaka-relate ako sa kanila. Damang-dama ko yung performance ko sa Kapamilya Karavan dahil malapit sa puso ko yung mga nanood."

In the weeks to come, expect the Star Power 5 performing in some social functions. But the girls must not forget that later on, they are set to battle it out and become Sharon's Next Female Pop Superstar.

Who among Akiko (Cebu), the Sweet and Sexy Siren; K-La (Canada), the R&B Sweetheart; Monica (Leyte), the Charming Biritera; Angeline (Manila), the Pop Belter; and Krissel (Davao) the Soulful Diva, will shine the most and be hailed the grand champion?

Charie Villa is Appointed as News Head of The ABS-CBN Regional Network Group

Seasoned broadcast journalist and news executive Charie Villa is all set to revolutionize regional news in the country after her recent appointment as News Head of the ABS-CBN Regional Network Group (RNG).

Villa, the former Head of ABS-CBN's News gathering and Online and Mobile Group, will use her decades of experience and visionary ways to strengthen the presence of RNG's news organization per region; and to also make it more accessible in social media such as the Internet.

The former Reuters Manila Bureau Chief said part of her agenda is pushing for the development of hyperlocal content, or content that focuses on the concerns of people in a specific region, in all 19 local editions of TV Patrol all over the nation.

In line with this, Villa said the RNG will tap and train homegrown citizen journalists to contribute reports for television and to also provide content in the mirror websites that RNG will develop for each region.

"RNG News will go deep into the communities and reach out to the people to capture the real state of each region. But at the same time, we are also going beyond borders by going online, in order to serve Filipinos abroad, especially OFWs who want to be updated about their hometowns," she explained.

The sites, which will carry local directory listings, and feature stories, business opportunities, and discussions specific to a region, will serve as online hubs for regional groups such as the Cebuanos, Zambangeños, and Ilocanos here and abroad.

Another exciting development in RNG News is the inclusion of a new segment called Bidaka.com, in all regional editions of "TV Patrol." Villa said the segment aims to arouse pride among the people by featuring local personalities whose achievements or contributions to society have become source of inspiration to his or her kababayans.

ABS-CBN Regional Network Group Head Jerry Bennett said he is confident that Villa will lead RNG News to greater heights as she had done to ABS-CBN News and www.abs-cbnnews.com.

"Having Charie head RNG News is the network's way of raising the bar in regional news. ABS-CBN may already be the country's biggest news organization, but that doesn't stop us from striving to bring better service to Filipinos worldwide," he said.

James Franco's Character Amputates Himself in 127 Hours; Moviegoers Reportedly Collapse on Watching the Scene

Danny Boyle's Oscar-nominated film 127 Hours vying for Best Picture, Best Actor (James Franco) and Best Screenplay (Danny Boyle and Simon Beaufoy) poises to be one unforgettable experience for the movie audience. People who have seen it fainted and some eventually collapsed while watching the movie due to one key scene where James Franco, who plays real-life trekker Aron Ralston amputated himself to be freed from a boulder that pinned his arm.

Directed and written by Danny Boyle who gave us the eye-opener reality hit Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston's remarkable adventure to save himself after a falling boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated slot canyon in Utah.

Throughout his journey, Ralston recalls friends, lovers, family, and the two hikers (Amber Tamblyn and Kate Mara) he met before his accident. Ralston battles the elements and his own demons to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary. 127 Hours is a thrilling story that will take an audience on a never before experienced journey and prove what we can do when we choose life.

From the moment he first began reading Aron Ralston's best-selling memoir, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, Boyle knew exactly what kind of film he wanted to convey from this real-life story, one that would use a highly subjective camera to penetrate the lead character's personal journey, to get under Aron's skin and head in a way no other medium could. "I knew I wanted to bring the audience into the canyon with Aron and to not let them go until he himself is released," the director explains.

Boyle goes on: "People often say about the story, "Oh, I don't know if I could do that." But I think we all would do anything we could for this life that is so beautiful and keeps us going. What I think Aron experienced in that canyon over those days was a sudden realization of the full value of life. One of the ideas of the film is that he was never really alone in the canyon. But he was surrounded spiritually by everyone he'd ever known or loved or dreamed about. That made the difference and we wanted to get that feeling into the story."

Boyle also knew that there was only one actor they felt that could convey the conviction and emotion needed to draw the audience in. "James has this extraordinary technical facility," notes Boyle, "and that's what was needed because 127 Hours is nearly a one-man film. But James went beyond that, stepping up to every single challenge, physical and emotional, that was thrown at him. He was so wonderful for this role. He got so into it, it became, in a way, as much about James Franco as it was about Aron Ralston."

It was a wildly surreal experience, Ralston confesses, to see the most profound experience of his life re-enacted by James Franco and the crew, and being on the set left him reeling back into all that he had seen and felt in those six days. "It was as if my 2010 self was able to look back at my 2003 self and watch myself escape the canyon," he says.

127 Hours opens February 9 in theaters from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Ms. Susan Roces To Star in TV5’s First Primetime Drama Series 'Babaeng Hampaslupa'

The Queen of Philippine Movies once again shares her acting brilliance on the small screen via Babaeng Hampaslupa. This marks Ms. Susan Roces’ first-ever project on TV5 where she topbills - together with Alice Dixson and Alex Gonzaga - the very first drama series of the network.

With over 50 years of unparalleled stardom on the local scene, Ms. Susan Roces is highly placed alongside the country’s showbiz stalwarts, including her late husband, the King of Philippine Movies Fernando Poe, Jr., and the King of Comedy Dolphy.

In Babaeng Hampaslupa, Ms. Susan Roces plays a major role as Helena See, a strong-willed Chinese tycoon who conceals a soft spot for those who strive to get more from life. Through their exceptional characters, Ms. Susan Roces, Alice Dixson and Alex Gonzaga represent the continued quest for hope, love and ambition.

Ms. Susan Roces landed her first starring role in the movie "Boksingera Daw" (1956) with Luis Gonzales. Following its success, the Queen has since teamed up with the biggest names during the golden years of showbiz such as Juancho Gutierrez, Jose Mari Gonzales, Romeo Vasquez, and Eddie Gutierrez. She staged a movie comeback in the second instalment of Chinese-themed flick "Mano Po" (2003) from Regal Entertainment.

Helmed by Eric Quizon and Joyce Bernal, Babaeng Hampaslupa leads primetime viewing starting February. The series also assembles an impressive cast with some of the country’s finest actors and actresses like Jay Manalo, Bing Loyzaga, Freddie Webb and Celso Ad Castillo; and younger stars such as Karel Marquez, Alwyn Uytinco, Vandolph, Jenny Quizon, and Martin Escudero.

Alex Gonzaga’s Character Caught Between Two Loves in TV5’s 'Babaeng Hampaslupa'

Alex Gonzaga’s star gets a notch shiner in the entertainment industry as she ventures into serious acting in TV5’s first primetime drama, Babaeng Hampaslupa.

The public first witnessed her acting potential in the hit youth-oriented show BFGF where she plays the role of Yaya Claring, a modern-day Cinderella who falls head over heels in love with her knight/master Sir Kean (Kean Cipriano). Prior to this project, Alex has already proven her flexibility as a total entertainer - a comic princess in LokomokoU, a multi-talented performer in P.O.5 and the bubbly host of gossip show Juicy. With four regular shows that require talent and flexibility, Alex Gonzaga is undeniably the most visible face on TV today.

In what could be her biggest break yet, the young actress is set to play the role of Grace, a woman of both charm and fighting spirit from the slums of Tondo. Day by day, the hills of garbage have provided food on their table: a clear picture of poverty which drives Grace to strive and find their way out of an impoverished life. And soon enough, she would discover the world that links to her real identity.

But despite the glaring reality in a shanty town like Baseco, the series finds deeper sense of relationship grown out of poverty with Grace and Nato (Alwyn Uytingco), her ingenious best friend through ups and downs. As they promised to fight life’s imbalance, Nato has found himself secretly in love with Grace.

Fate brings Grace to another world where she crosses paths with Andrew (Martin Escudero), an aspiring young entrepreneur who works relentlessly to prove himself to his foster family, Helena (Ms. Susan Roces) and Anastacia See (Alice Dixson). Just when he is slowly getting into Grace, Stephanie (Karel Marquez), enters the scene and claims her stake of Andrew’s affection.

Babaeng Hampaslupa is the second project of Alex and Alwyn together. Their first team-up on BFGF (Alwyn was introduced as a new twist in the love story of Yaya Claring and Sir Kean) has earned positive feedbacks from the viewers. Meanwhile, the series marks the first project of Alex and Martin together following the latter’s recent transfer to the Happy Network.

Will Grace settle for the man she has been with through hard times? Or she will fall for the one who might be holding the key to her real identity. Find out this February 7 in Babaeng Hampaslupa only on TV5.

John Estrada and Randy Santiago To Host ABS-CBN's New Noontime Game Show; Willie Revillame Mad About It

Willie Revillame put himself again in another controversy involving his former home studio ABS-CBN.

During his live birthday celebration last January 26, 2011 on "Willing Willie", Willie aired his anger over longtime friends John Estrada and Randy Santiago for allegedly closing a deal with ABS-CBN to host a new afternoon game show with Kapamilya female stars Mariel Rodriguez and Toni Gonzaga.

According to Willie, Randy and John are fully aware that he already lobbied an afternoon game show to TV5's big bosses Manny Pangilinan and Atty. Rey Espinosa which the two will be co-hosting.

If the ABS-CBN show pushes through, Willie will have no choice but to withdraw his place as Best Man on John's wedding to Priscilla Meirelles this February. Aside from that, Willie also threatened John that he will campaign for Eat Bulaga! just to make sure that John and Randy's new show a flop.
