Asiong Salonga Leading Lady Carla Abellana Now Allowed to Promote the Movie “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story”
All's well now between Regal Films matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde, Carla Abellana and Laguna governor E.R. Ejercito.
It could be remember that Carla was told not to promote her Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movie “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story” produced by Viva Films and Scenema Concept International otherwise she might be facing legal action from Regal where she has an exclusive contract.
Regal Films, by the way, also has an official movie entry to this year's MMFF “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” where Carla is also one of the lead cast.
In the movie's red carpet premiere at SM Manila Cinema 1 last December 17, Governor Ejercito revealed that his leading lady can now promote their film, “Okay na. I talked to Mother twice already. Pumapayag na siyang mag-promote si Carla”
He further said “Sabi ng manager ni Carla na may option siyang gumawa sa labas. Kaya akala ko, okay na lahat. ‘Yun pala may miscommunication between Arnold Vegafria (Carla’s manager) and Mother Lily.”
Mother Lily, on the other hand, refutes this report “No it's not true that we're not allowing her. It's her manager. He opted to have Carla promote Yesterday Today Tomorrow.”
