"Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay" Hits Theaters This Halloween!

Cinema One brings back the lovable “Dakilang Extra” Lilia Cuntapay through the award-winning  “Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay” in a special theatrical run in SM Theaters this Halloween beginning October 31.

This critically acclaimed movie originally screened at the 7th Cinema One Originals Film Festival won numerous awards. It features Cuntapay’s life as an often disregarded old woman who portrays ghostly and sinister roles in various Filipino horror films.

Writer-director Antoinette Jadaone’s directing style aims to show who Lilia Cuntapay is, outside her big horror façade. “This movie will definitely be about the heartbreaks and the joyous life of Lilia Cuntapay,” Jadaone said.

“I talked to Nanay Lilia and reminded her that in this film, she’s not a paranormal figure. She won’t show her finesse in horror but rather what she really is in real life. I infused some animations and surrealism in this movie, but it still remains truthful,” she added.

Cuntapay won the Best Actress award at the Cinema One Originals awards while the film won Best Screenplay, Best Editing, Audience Choice Award, Special Jury Prize and Best Supporting Actress for Geraldine Villamil.

“Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay” is Jadaone’s first full-length feature. The film veers away from Cuntapay’s same-old-story role.

According to a review written by Karen of audreymagazine.com, “Six Degrees will have you laughing and feeling good throughout. Whether her portrayal in this mockumentary is just part of the show or not, Cuntapay comes off as very adorable, quirky, and imaginative.”  Both the film and Cuntapay as a celebrity were big hits with the festival audience in Italy and South Korea.

Get to know the popular white lady behind most horror films on “Six Degrees of Separation From Lilia Cuntapay” showing in SM Megamall, SM North Edsa, SM Fairview, SM Mall of Asia, SM Southmall, SM Manila, SM Marikina, SM Sta. 'Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles' Brings the Very First Chroma Green Technology in Philippine Cinema!

The Philippine Cinema is now entering into another generation of modern technology. Another milestone, a new trend in the movie-making industry is yet to unfold! And this is via the so-called Chroma Green Technology that will be introduced by the newest horror-flick!

It seems that the year 2012 is a year of Horror Movies! Almost every month, new horror films were shown in different cinemas by the different film outfits. We have now a horror film about possession, then another horror film focusing on psychological drama, afterwards a horror film combining suspense and thriller, and of course a horror film about 'Aswang,' the one where almost all the Filipinos were familiar with!

Hearing about an 'Aswang' film makes us think that this is a traditional Filipino horror which many of us truly grew up with. But this thinking eventually changed after learning the making of "Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles!"

Just recently, a media conference was conducted for the upcoming horror flick "Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles." Media specialists, press people, and bloggers joined the people behind the said movie such as its director, actors, and movie graphic artists. It was an extra-ordinary press conference since the delegates got a chance to see the preview of the film.

Erik Matti, the director of the movie shared exciting facts about the movie. And one of these facts is the use of Chroma Green Technology.

Direk Erik Matti Brings Another Milestone in Philippine Cinema!
Five Film Outfits Collaborate for the Movie
Ramon Bautista Shares His Experience While Doing the Movie!

Yes, "Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles" is the very first Filipino movie which uses Chroma Green. Chroma Green is a technique wherein a particular studio was wrapped by green screen. And in this green screen, special effects were performed giving a unique life to the background of the movie scene. Proud to say that the movie is shot entirely in green screen using a 2,000 square meter studio. All the backgrounds that you will see in the movie are all products of Chroma Green!

More about the Chroma Green, this technology is commonly used for weather update forecasts, where an interactive map is seen behind the presenter. The use of green screen is predominant in Hollywood blockbusters and advertising to achieve the effects needed for the material. Direk Matti happily shared that they used their resourcefulness in having the green screens. Most of the screens were scrap materials bought chiefly in Divisoria. Take note that these green screens used in Hollywood films were too expensive!

Direk Matti even shared his success story in producing films. He remembered that 10 years ago, he was very active in doing sexy films such as "Dos Ekis,"  "Prosti," and "Scorpio Nights." He further revealed that his wife was very disappointed to the quality of the films he made before because of a dim or dark background. But he promised that 10 or 15 years later, he will make a great film that will introduce a trend in the Philippine Cinema! And that promise materialized via "Tiktik!"

RJ Salvador, The Nephew of Philip Salvador Plays 'Aswang' in the Movie!
Direk Erik Matti Reveals the Hi-Tech In the Making of the Movie!
The Director and the Actor

Aside from the hi-tech effects, Direk Matti even creates a perfect combination of stars playing lead roles in the film. They are Lovi Poe, Joey Marquez, and Janice De Belen who were all "Products of Aswang Movies!"  Agree?!

Dingdong Dantes plays a significant role in the movie! He is paired for the first time to the co-Kapuso sexy actress Lovi Poe who is now dubbed as the "Queen of Horror Films!" Direk Matti revealed that when Dingdong read the script, he immediately got interested to become part of the movie! According to Direk, "kung wala si Dong baka hanggan ngayon drawing pa rin ang movie na'to!" Dingdong is one of the producer of the movie.

Joining Dingdong, Janice, Joey, and Lovi are promising stars like LJ Reyes, Ramon Bautista, and RJ Salvador who is the nephew of the veteran actor Philip Salvador and the cousin of the young actress Maja Salvador! RJ and LJ portray "Aswang" in the movie.

The film is brought by the five film companies namely Agostodos, Post Manila, Reality Entertainment, Mothership, and GMA-Films. The Kapuso film outfit is the distributor of the movie!

Everybody is really excited to see this movie. Another great one of a kind horror flick! Two thumbs up!(www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)

Fresh from the success of the horror film "The Healing" with the Star for All Season Ms. Vilma Santos and Kim Chiu, young hunk Martin Del Rosario once more star in another horror flick. This time, it's for "Amorosa: The Revenge!"

If three young actresses today namely Maja Salvador, Lovi Poe, and Empress were sharing the title of "Horror Princess" since they were all star in different hit horror films, will Martin Del Rosario be the sole owner of the title "Horror Prince?!"

Martin made a remarkable acting in the recent horror movie "The Healing." He portrayed the character of Gov. Vi's son and the stepbrother of Kim. His acting stint in the said film is truly noticeable. He improves a lot in different aspects!

In "Amorosa: The Revenge," Martin plays the character of Amiel, one of the sons of Ms. Angel Aquino. He revealed in the recently held Blogger's Conference that his role in this newest movie is more challenging as he portrays the character of a blind man.

According to the young actor, he reinvented himself for this movie. What everyone saw in "The Healing" will be different in "Amorosa." In his newest movie, aside from being blind, he is a caring son and brother.

Martin further revealed that "Amorosa" is not only a horror flick. It has a touch of drama and involves issues of family relationships. It also reflects how the decision we make can affect our lives and how it leads to different consequences.

The movie is truly intriguing! Everyone is also excited for the new character of Martin. Do you think Martin's performance in this film can surpass his success in "The Healing"?! And will you agree to give the title of "Horror Prince" to Martin?!

The character of Ejay will add spice in the story. He will be in a love triangle between Empress and Carlo Aquino. But there will be a mystery in his character.

Meanwhile, Empress's role in the story is very significant. What is currently happening to the lives of Angel Aquino (Rosa), Enrique Gil (Rommel), and Martin Del Rosario (Amiel) is influenced by her character! Hmmm...sounds exciting!

Empress is fresh from the Regal Films horror movie "Guni-Guni." Because of starring in two consecutive horror flicks, Empress was compared to Maja Salvador being the so-called "Horror Princess!" But Empress didn't mind the comparison.

The tandem of Empress and Ejay in "Amorosa" is another exciting and challenging pair to watch out. This is actually their very first horror project together. They were successful in action via "Guns and Roses" and in drama via "Mundo Man ay Magunaw," now let's see how their pair was reinvented in horror via "Amorosa!" Exciting!

After the success of the horror flicks like "Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang" and "The Healing," Star Cinema together with Skylight Light Films bring us their third horror movie offering this year. This is "Amorosa: The Revenge!"

"Amorosa: The Revenge" is not only an ordinary film we all know. It combines terror and family values with a touch of psychological factor. The director of the movie Direk Topel Lee also reveals that he uses his special technique for this movie.

But aside from these things, what makes "Amorosa" an extra-ordinary horror film is that the lead stars and the production staff of the movie experienced a real-life horror while filming the movie. These were unveiled by the cast and director of the movie during the recently held Blogger's Conference of "Amorosa" in Wangfu Restaurant, I'll Terrazo, Tomas Morato, QC.

Ejay Falcon Joins the Lead Stars of "Amorosa"

The movie was shot in Tanay, Rizal. The foggy location in the middle of the forest contributes scream in the movie. "We rented an old house for this film," Direk Topel shared.

Direk Enrico Santos of Skylight Films said that while shooting the movie, they experienced their own ghost stories. "Minsan may biglang kumakalabog. Or minsan biglang sasara 'ung pinto kahit walang tao," he narrated.

"Sabi 'nung isang staff namin na nakakakita talaga, meron daw talagang nagbabatay dun sa bahay," Ms. Angel Aquino, the lead star of the movie added. "But we're thankful na wala kaming nagambala or na-abused na spirit while doing the movie," Angel further shared.

Adding more terrifying experience to the team was that, "kahit bumabagyo na at bumabaha sa buong Metro Manila, kami tuloy pa din sa shooting. Talagang na-trapped kami sa Tanay," Direk Topel unveiled. Majority of the scenes in the movie were finished during the devastating 'Habagat' week in the country.

Martin Del Rosario Embarks Another Challenging Role in the Movie after "The Healing"

Ejay Falcon Has A Surprising Role in the Film!

Empress Sites the Significance of Her Character in the Movie

Direk Topel Lee Shares That He Uses His Special Technique in the Movie

Fresh from the success of "The Healing," Martin Del Rosario returns on another horror movie via "Amorosa." He plays the character of Amiel, one of the sons of Angel and the brother of Enrique. "Challenging ang role ko dito since I'll portray the character of a blind man."

When asked about his terrifying experience, Martin shared, "ako nung bata ako, takot talaga ako sa manyika." "But when I grow old, na-overcome ko na siya. Pero 'nung ginagawa namin 'ung movie na sinasaliwan ng frightening sound ng piano, bumalik 'ung takot ko. Pagnakakakita uli ako ng dolls, agad kong pinalalayo s'kin," Martin explained.

Enrique Gil on the other hand shared that he is a person who didn't got frightened easily. "Hindi talaga ako matatakuting tao. But when doing the movie, I felt scared because of the location." "Foggy kase 'ung place tapos nasa gitna pa ng forest na walang tao," he added. "Amorosa: The Revenge" is actually Enrique's first ever horror film!

The cast also revealed their favorite horror film which truly makes them scared. Majority of them like "Jaws" and "The Exorcist." Ejay Falcon who is also part of the lead characters shared that his most favorite scary movie is the "Aswang" episode of the local film "Shake, Rattle, and Roll!"

The Whole Cast and Director of the Movie

Angel Aquino further shared that her character as Rosa is her most challenging role. "Dito kase hindi ka lang nananakot. Horror sya na may kasamang drama," she emphasized. Angel is best known in the teleseryes like "Magkaribal" and "Maria La Del Barrio" as she played the remarkable antagonists namely Vera and Victoria Dela Vega! "Amorosa: The Revenge" is actually her second horror movie since she was already part of the previous classic film "Siquor."

The movie is also a family drama wherein the story revolves around the mother and sons. The family undergone an accident that will change their lives. It tackles the importance of decision and its consequences.

According to the director of the movie, the title "Amorosa" was derived from a midnight flower. We will see how this kind of flower is related to the whole flow of the story. For me, the title of the movie is actually the combination of the names of the characters of Martin as Amiel, Enrique as Rommel, and Angel as Rosa. Putting "Amiel," "Rommel", and "Rosa" altogether brings us "Amorosa!" Cool!

Also part of the movie are Carlo Aquino, Franco Daza, Nico Antonio, Jairus Aquino, Mosang, Richard Quan, and with the special participation of Xyriel Manabat. The movie also introduces Jane Oineza.

"Amorosa: The Revenge" will start to frighten the theaters nationwide this coming August 29, 2012! It's truly a must see movie and an extra-ordinary horror flick! Two thumbs up!(www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)
