'One More Try' in the Director's Perspective!

Award-winning director Ruel S. Bayani describes his newest masterpiece "One More Try," starred by Angel Locsin, Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban, as a unique family drama that will touch the hearts of moviegoers in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). "One More Try," which is graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board, will hit cinemas nationwide on Tuesday, Christmas day (December 25).

"It is still a unique kind of family drama. Yes, nandoon iyong sexy adult theme. Nandoon ang love scenes at 'yung sex appeal nung apat na main cast," shared Bayani, who was so impressed with the performance of Angel, Dingdong, Zanjoe and Angelica in the movie. "I would say that it is the sexiest kind of family drama. I think, umuusok siya sa screen. Bumagay ang mga actors ko sa roles nila. Casting coup ito!"

Bayani, who was also the director of the box-office hit "No Other Woman," believes that the unique and brave narrative of "One More Try" is perfect to be seen by families during Christmas.

"One More Try' is a movie that will be enjoyed be a lot of people. Kapupulutan ito ng aral at paghuhugutan ng inspirasyon ng maraming pamilyang Pilipino," said Bayani. "Here, they will discover that a true Filipino family stays together. They go through a crisis and survive that crisis together and they become better people after."

Bayani further shared that the beauty of 'One More Try' lies on the message it imparts to the moviegoers. "Hindi regalo o gayak ang tunay na diwa ng Pasko, kundi ang pagsasama ng pamilya kahit saan, kahit anuman ang mangyari," he said. "Kaya tamang-tama para sa Pasko ang pelikulang ito dahil makikita dito kung paano magagawa ng isang pamilya ang lahat para sa minamahal nila at kung paano maipararamdam sa mahal mo na hindi mo siya iiwan at lalaban kayong magkasama."

Aside from Angel, Dingdong, Zanjoe and Angelica, "One More Try" also stars Carmina Villarroel, Agot Isidro, Edward Mendez, and Gina Pareño.

Experience love that makes you do the impossible and accept the unacceptable, don't miss "One More Try," along with Star Cinema's "Sisterakas," which will hit theaters nationwide on Christmas Day.(www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)

"Kahit isang gabi lang, ...pahiram ng asawa mo." - Angel Locsin

I know you really can't wait to see the full trailer of this exciting movie. So here it is, let's all watch this:

To give you a glimpse about the plot of the movie, the story revolves around a loving single mother Grace (Angel) who is willing to sacrifice everything to save her ill son.

All seems well in Grace’s life, especially with the comfort of her son Botchok (Miguel Vergara) and boyfriend Tristan (Zanjoe) who is supporting her. But when Botchok’s rare blood condition becomes more severe, Grace is left with no other choice but to reconnect with Edward (Dingdong), Botchok’s biological father, an accomplished man married with a more successful power woman Jacqueline (Angelica).

All Grace asks from Edward is for him to help her save Botchok, their son. Edward is hesitant at first but Jacq gives him permission. However, such tedious process of curing Botchok starts to taint their happy relationships, for unwanted feelings in the past start to creep in. Until eventually all other options fail except only for one—Edward and Grace need to have another child to permanently cure Botchok and they need to do it the natural way.

In a situation where a life of an innocent child is at stake, can Grace, Edward, Tristan and Jacqueline sacrifice their personal feelings in order to cure Botchok? In this kind of pursuit, who will eventually win--Jacqueline who will go for a kill to save her faltering marriage with Edward or Grace, the devoted mother who will do anything to save her son even if it means compromising her relationship with the man who truly loves her?

'Pahiram ng Sandali:' A Recap of the First Two Episodes!

For those who missed the first two episodes of GMA's newest primetime drama program "Pahiram ng Sandali," it's time to catch up on its exciting story. The series stars Dingdong Dantes (Alex), Max Collins (Cindy), Christopher de Leon (Philip) and Ms. Lorna Tolentino (Janice) with Alessandra de Rossi (Baby), Mark Gil (Larry), Sandy Andolong (Thea), Neil Ryan Sese (Andrew), Isabel Rivas (Diana), Kristofer Martin (Franz), among others.

Here's a summary of the said episodes:

The story began with a scene in the middle of a hostage crisis.  An exasperated bolo-wielding man threatens to end the life of an elderly woman whom he held hostage out of despair over his marital problems.

Meanwhile, an aspiring journalist named Alex Santiago (Dingdong Dantes) applies as an intern under the tutelage of Romer Alcaraz (Roy Alvarez), a veteran hard news reporter and columnist of the tabloid, "Pinoy Reporter."

As a test, Romer Alcaraz challenges Alex and three other aspirants for the job to go and cover the on-going hostage crisis and come up with a plausible news story.  Whoever gets the best angle to the story gets the job.

Alex accepted the challenge but as soon as he returns to where he had parked his motorcycle, a woman hurried away with it.  He would later learn that the woman's name is Cindy and that she had escaped from her boyfriend who attempted to take advantage of her.

Even without his motorcycle, Alex still managed to reach the site of the hostage-taking.  In his attempt to get the best viewpoint of the scene, he climbed up the roof of the house where the hostage taker and his hostage were and took a snapshot using his mobile phone through a hole in the roof.  But the structure wasn't strong enough to support his weight and so it caved in and ultimately Alex came crashing down to the floor. He fought with the infuriated hostage taker, and just as he thought he had knocked him down, he received a heavy blow on to his head from the hostage who owned the house. In the end, Alex lost his motorcycle, then his consicousness and, finally, his bid for the job.

Flashback to Alex's childhood.  Alex is an illigitimate child; He grew up not knowing who his real father is, and so he was always a favorite victim of bullies at school.  He was called by his classmates "putok sa buho" which is a derogatory phrase used to mock children who were born out of wedlock.

No longer able to withstand the bullying, Alex engaged in a fistfight with his classmates. The incident dismayed Alex's mom, Thea (Sandy Andolong). Alex demanded that his mom tell him who his father is.  In the end, Thea was left without a choice but to tell him the whole truth: that Alex's father is Larry Gomez (Mark Gil), the managing editor of "The Philippine Examiner," considered the most respected and most influential newspaper in the country.

Thea attempted to introduce Alex to his father but when she brought the boy to him, Larry drove them away.  He even offered them money and when a coin dropped to the ground, he told the boy he could take it as well.  Since then, Alex developed deep hatred against his father.  It worsened when Alex saw how much Larry loved JR, his son with Diana Gomez (Isabel Rivas), the woman who was instrumental in catapulting Larry to his present stature.

Back to present time, Thea married her suitor Berting who turned out to be a batterer.  One day, Berting beat Thea so badly that she had to be rushed to the hospital because of an injury to her spleen.  She needs to undergo a major treatment but she has no financial means to do so.

Meanwhile, Alex found out that a photo of him taken during the hostage taking incident was published in Romer's column. Infuriated, he stormed the columnist in his office.  On his way out of the building, he saw Cindy as the latter was returning his motorcycle.  He confronted Cindy for stealing his motorcycle.  Alex left hugely disappointed and accidentally drops the tabloid he was holding.  Cindy picks it up and reads about the man's misfortunes.  She felt guilty for what she did and began to feel pity for him.

Cindy learns about what had happened to Alex's mom and pleads with her Tito Larry and Tita Diana to provide Thea financial assistance (the couple has a foundation). What she did not know is that Larry is Alex's father.

Thea went through the operation thanks to Cindy's help.  Alex returns the favor by teaching Cindy how to ride a motorcycle.  This is how the two became close and eventually will become lovers.

Alex learns how wealthy Cindy's family is and gets intimidated.  But because he loves Cindy so much, he figured he should strive hard to become rich and give Cindy the kind of life that she deserves. But Cindy came to him one day and told him that they CAN'T be together.

Watch how this story continues to unfold in "Pahiram ng Sandali," airs weekday nights on GMA-7.(www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)

"Angel Versus Angel" in 'One More Try,' Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban Battling in the Movie!

Two Angels will be witnessed in the exciting movie "One More Try,"  Star Cinema's official entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival. Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban lead the said movie with their respective leading men namely Zanjoe Marudo and Dingdong Dantes.

The characters of Angel and Angelica are rivals in the movie! They will battling for one man! Angel is actually married to the character of Zanjoe while Angelica to Dingdong. But because of a certain reason, Angel will be having an affair to Dingdong. It is for a child!

Surprise and excitements in the mood of the viewers filled the Cinema when the full trailer of "One More Try" was shown during the Premiere Night of "24/7 in Love." Loud screams filled specially when the killer lines between the lead casts were heard!

Angelica's character is somewhat antagonist in the movie. She will put pain and suffering to the character of Angel. Angel on the other hand will do anything just to save the life of her only child!

What captured the attention of viewers was the last part of the trailer. This was when Angel said "Pahiram ng Asawa Mo" to Angelica! Louder screams followed!

Dingdong Dantes and Kylie Padilla's TV Series 'Haram' Shelves, GMA-7 Releases Official Statement!

HARAM is a story about the love of LUIS (Dingdong Dantes) a soldier who is of Christian faith for a Muslim girl, NADI (Kylie Padilla).

Eventually, the soldier will find out that this love is "haram" (forbidden); this is the reason why Nadi's family is strictly against their friendship-much more their union.

But because Luis's love is true, he wants to prove that he only has good intentions for Nadi. This pushes him to convert to Islam, so that his love for Nadi would no longer be forbidden.

This is the story of Haram.

A story, not just of a unique kind of love, but alsoabout a Muslim family (Nadi's) and how they endeavor and strive to raise their children to be fitting and acceptable for Allah.

It is the show's intention to make the viewers understand why a relationship between a Muslim girl and a man from outside Islam is forbidden, a doctrine which is also present in other religious beliefs.

At the same time, the show aims to present the beautiful side and the dynamics of the Muslim family life in our contemporary times, and
the dynamics of religious and cultural pluralism, with the desire to promote better understanding and mutual respect among people of various faith traditions.

But because of the current tense atmosphere all over the world and in solidarity and in respect to the entire Muslim Community, GMA 7 has decided is best to shelve Haram for now.

We hope for everyone's understanding.(www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)

'Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles' Brings the Very First Chroma Green Technology in Philippine Cinema!

The Philippine Cinema is now entering into another generation of modern technology. Another milestone, a new trend in the movie-making industry is yet to unfold! And this is via the so-called Chroma Green Technology that will be introduced by the newest horror-flick!

It seems that the year 2012 is a year of Horror Movies! Almost every month, new horror films were shown in different cinemas by the different film outfits. We have now a horror film about possession, then another horror film focusing on psychological drama, afterwards a horror film combining suspense and thriller, and of course a horror film about 'Aswang,' the one where almost all the Filipinos were familiar with!

Hearing about an 'Aswang' film makes us think that this is a traditional Filipino horror which many of us truly grew up with. But this thinking eventually changed after learning the making of "Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles!"

Just recently, a media conference was conducted for the upcoming horror flick "Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles." Media specialists, press people, and bloggers joined the people behind the said movie such as its director, actors, and movie graphic artists. It was an extra-ordinary press conference since the delegates got a chance to see the preview of the film.

Erik Matti, the director of the movie shared exciting facts about the movie. And one of these facts is the use of Chroma Green Technology.

Direk Erik Matti Brings Another Milestone in Philippine Cinema!
Five Film Outfits Collaborate for the Movie
Ramon Bautista Shares His Experience While Doing the Movie!

Yes, "Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles" is the very first Filipino movie which uses Chroma Green. Chroma Green is a technique wherein a particular studio was wrapped by green screen. And in this green screen, special effects were performed giving a unique life to the background of the movie scene. Proud to say that the movie is shot entirely in green screen using a 2,000 square meter studio. All the backgrounds that you will see in the movie are all products of Chroma Green!

More about the Chroma Green, this technology is commonly used for weather update forecasts, where an interactive map is seen behind the presenter. The use of green screen is predominant in Hollywood blockbusters and advertising to achieve the effects needed for the material. Direk Matti happily shared that they used their resourcefulness in having the green screens. Most of the screens were scrap materials bought chiefly in Divisoria. Take note that these green screens used in Hollywood films were too expensive!

Direk Matti even shared his success story in producing films. He remembered that 10 years ago, he was very active in doing sexy films such as "Dos Ekis,"  "Prosti," and "Scorpio Nights." He further revealed that his wife was very disappointed to the quality of the films he made before because of a dim or dark background. But he promised that 10 or 15 years later, he will make a great film that will introduce a trend in the Philippine Cinema! And that promise materialized via "Tiktik!"

RJ Salvador, The Nephew of Philip Salvador Plays 'Aswang' in the Movie!
Direk Erik Matti Reveals the Hi-Tech In the Making of the Movie!
The Director and the Actor

Aside from the hi-tech effects, Direk Matti even creates a perfect combination of stars playing lead roles in the film. They are Lovi Poe, Joey Marquez, and Janice De Belen who were all "Products of Aswang Movies!"  Agree?!

Dingdong Dantes plays a significant role in the movie! He is paired for the first time to the co-Kapuso sexy actress Lovi Poe who is now dubbed as the "Queen of Horror Films!" Direk Matti revealed that when Dingdong read the script, he immediately got interested to become part of the movie! According to Direk, "kung wala si Dong baka hanggan ngayon drawing pa rin ang movie na'to!" Dingdong is one of the producer of the movie.

Joining Dingdong, Janice, Joey, and Lovi are promising stars like LJ Reyes, Ramon Bautista, and RJ Salvador who is the nephew of the veteran actor Philip Salvador and the cousin of the young actress Maja Salvador! RJ and LJ portray "Aswang" in the movie.

The film is brought by the five film companies namely Agostodos, Post Manila, Reality Entertainment, Mothership, and GMA-Films. The Kapuso film outfit is the distributor of the movie!

"Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles" is set to hit the theaters this coming October 17, 2012. A red carpet premiere night in SM Megamall will be on October 15.

Everybody is really excited to see this movie. Another great one of a kind horror flick! Two thumbs up!(www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)

In the said magazine, Cosmopolitan features 69 sizzling hot centerfold hunks. And of course focused in the cover is the hunk who topped them all!

From 2007 to 2011, I have compiled the Cosmomen magazine covers featuring Dingdong Dantes, Derek Ramsey, Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, and Phil Younghusband. And here are their respective covers:

2007 - Dingdong Dantes

2008 - Derek Ramsay

2009 - Gerald Anderson

2010 - Sam Milby

2011 - Phil Younghusband

You may notice that the hunks who were featured in the annual Cosmomem Covers were actually the hottest and brightest men of their respective year.

In 2007, Dingdong Dantes emerged as he played the character of Sergio in the successful remake of "Marimar" in GMA-7. In 2008, Derek Ramsey grabbed the title of being the country's Universal Leading Man. In 2009, Gerald Anderson rose in higher fame and becomes the country's Primetime Action-Drama Prince as he led the hit TV series "Tayong Dalawa!" In 2010, Sam Milby shined the brightest as he led in different Kapamilya movies and TV series. And of course last year, Phil Younghusband was the center of attention as his Team, the AZKALS dominated the country!

Now in 2012, who do you think will be the hottest man to be in the Cosmomen 2012 Cover?! Who among our sizzling yummy hunks deserve to be in the said cover?!

Will it be Coco Martin, Xian Lim, Jake Cuenca, Enchong Dee, Enrique Gil, Piolo Pascual, or Paulo Avelino?! Or do you have other hunks in mind?!
