Erich Gonzales Plays Grace Poe-Llamanzares in 'MMK!'


Erich Gonzales will portray former Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) chairperson Grace Poe-Llamanzares in Maalaala Mo Kaya this Saturday, February 2, 2013.

The 22-year-old actress has been chosen to play the role of the former MTRCB Chairman and now Senatorial candidate. Tonton Gutierrez will portray Fernando Poe, Jr. while Sheryl Cruz will play Susan Roces.

In an interview by ABS-CBN News, Erich said it’s an honor to portray the life of Grace Poe.

“Isa nga pong malaking karangalan na gumanap bilang isang Ms. Grace Poe dito sa life story niya. Makikita natin ‘yung mga pinagdaanan niya, nung bata siya, nung paglaki niya, ‘yung relationship niya po sa mga magulang niya, na king and queen and Philippine movies,” she said.

The 44-year-old Poe-Llamanzares is the adopted daughter of the late Fernando Poe, Jr. and veteran actress Susan Roces, and the half-sister of Kapuso actress Lovi Poe.

Gonzales prepared for this project by watching Poe-Llamanzares’ interviews in order to emulate her mannerisms, behavior and the way she talks.

After her “MMK” stint, Erich will return to primetime via the new teleserye “Juan dela Cruz” where she will portray the role of Rosario, Coco Martin‘s leading lady.(www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)

The FPJ and Susan Roces' Story in 'MMK' This Saturday!



ABS-CBN’s undisputed drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya” will share this Saturday (February 2) the inspiring family life of Philippine showbiz’s power couple Fernando Poe Jr. and Susan Roces, with their daughter Grace.

In the episode, Tonton Gutierrez will play as FPJ, Sheryl Cruz as Susan, and Kapamilya drama princess Erich Gonzales as Grace. Through the eyes of their child, discover who the King and Queen of Philippine movies really are behind the glitz and glamour of showbiz. While growing up, did Grace experience difficulties for not being the real daughter of her famous parents? Kapamilya sexy actress Bangs Garcia will star in the upcoming episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” this Saturday (January 26) as Carmi, a funny, loud and outgoing lady, who was forced by her husband Ian (Tom Rodriguez) to become timid and formal for the sake of their marriage.

Prince of Pop Erik Santos will topbill the New Year episode of ABS-CBN’s longest-running and top-rating drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya" this Saturday (January 5) as he portrays the role of Roque, a reserved type of guy who sought help from his younger brother Raul (Aaron Villaflor) to win the heart of his childhood crush Merlinda (Charee Pineda). 

With Roque’s persistence and Raul’s unwavering support, Merlinda finally said yes to Roque. However, just as things were about to work well between Roque and Merlinda as future husband and wife, Raul started falling in love with Merlinda. 

How will Roque react once he discovers that Merlinda chose to marry his brother over him?

Dina Bonnevie Returns on TV Drama and Plays a Mother to 13 Kids!

Well-acclaimed actress Dina Bonnevie will make TV viewers cry in "Maalaala Mo Kaya" this Saturday (November 24) as she will portray the role of Bebeng, a dedicated wife and mother to her 13 kids, who would always draw strength from her flower shop business in times of trials.

Bebeng and her husband together with their thirteen children enjoyed a happy family life until several tragedies came their way--their eldest son was diagnosed with cancer, their third daughter got pregnant early, their sixth son was epileptic, while her 12th daughter died because of pneumonia.



Because of these misfortunes, Bebeng eventually lost her flower shop and almost lost her will to continue living.

Ariel Rivera Plays a Stroke Victim This Saturday in 'MMK!'




Actor-singer Ariel Rivera will play as a dedicated teacher and father who suffered from stroke in the upcoming "Maalaala Mo Kaya" episode this Saturday (November 10). 

Fidel (Ariel) was able to recover from the heart attack but that incident caused his loss of comprehension and speech. With no money for Fidel’s therapy, Fidel’s wife asked their little daughter, Jonah, to be a teacher to his father. Instead of playing with friends, Jonah was stuck with Fidel.

After recently signing an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN, sexy actress Diana Zubiri will take on her first acting stint as a Kapamilya star via the award-winning drama anthology, “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” where she will be starred with Erich Gonzales and Patrick Garcia.

Iza Calzado Plays a Doctor with a Bipolar Disorder in Her Second 'MMK' Episode!

Award-winning actress Iza Calzado will once again star in a heavy drama episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya" Saturday (September 15).

In her second "MMK" since she transferred to ABS-CBN, Iza will portray the character of Rosalyn, a doctor who suffered from major depression due to a series of unfortunate incidents in her life, particularly because of her philandering father, Gilbert (Bembol Roco).


At first, she was diagnosed to have paranoia and major depression; but later on Rosalyn was brought to a psychiatrist who declared that she was ill with bipolar disorder.

Coco Martin's 'MMK' Episode Wins in the 2012 Seoul International Drama Awards!

Asia’s longest-running drama anthology, "Maalaala Mo Kaya" recently earned international recognitions from two of the most coveted award-giving bodies for television namely Seoul International Drama Awards 2012 and Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Prize.

ABS-CBN’s "MMK: Kamao" episode (with international title "Remembering: Fist") topbilled by multi-awarded actor Coco Martin, bagged the special prize in the recently concluded 7th Seoul International Drama Awards.

According to “MMK” business unit head Malou Santos, the latest recognition from Seoul International Drama Awards is an accolade they dedicate to the Filipino people whose inspiring tales are immortalized in the two-decade-old drama anthology.

"We share this honor to the Filipino people who continue to awe us with their stories of hope and resilience,” shared Malou. “This is also a tribute not only to the artistry of the people behind 'MMK' but more so to the nobility and strength of the ordinary people whose life stories inspire us the most."

Led by highly acclaimed director Dado Lumibao, the episode was based from a true story of a war freak underground boxer named Ramon (Coco) who experienced pain in many forms since childhood. Together with Coco in “MMK: Kamao” are Jodi Sta. Maria, Philip Nolasco, BJ Forbes, Celine Lim, Veyda Innoval, Michael Roy Jornales, Carlos Morales, Levi Ignacio, Andrei Garcia, Aleck Bovick, and Mike Lloren. Meanwhile, another well-renowned international award-giving body Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Prize named "MMK: T-Shirt" episode, starred by former child actress Sharlene San Pedro, as one of the finalists under the Television Special Jury Prizes category. The finals of ABU Prize will be held in Seoul on October 16.

“MMK: T-Shirt” shared the life story of a young girl named Gigi (Sharlene) who was raped repeatedly by his employer and eventually braved the struggles of being a young mother. The said episode was chosen to compete with other five entries from Bhutan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Sri Lanka. The 2012 ABU Prize finalists were chosen from 166 entries from 18 countries and 25 organizations.
