After recently signing an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN, sexy actress Diana Zubiri will take on her first acting stint as a Kapamilya star via the award-winning drama anthology, “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” where she will be starred with Erich Gonzales and Patrick Garcia. 

In the said episode which will be aired on Saturday (October 13), Diana will play the role of Yoli, a role model to her younger sister Merlie (Erich) who trusted and obeyed every single thing that her ‘ate’ asked of her, including the idea of having a relationship with Ramon (Patrick). 

Believing that Yoli's intention for her was good and pure, Merlie followed Yoli, only to find out that she was just manipulated by her older sister. How can betrayal and infidelity shatter the solid bond between sisters?

It's Official: Lorna Tolentino Returns to GMA-7!

Veteran and grandslam actress Lorna Tolentino today signed an exclusive contract with media giant GMA Network and is set to star in an upcoming drama series with Dingdong Dantes and Kylie Padilla. 

In a contract signing held this morning at the GMA Network Center, GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr. and Entertainment TV OIC Lilybeth G. Rasonable formally welcomed Tolentino back to her home network. 

In an interview after the signing, Tolentino said she feels blessed to be back in GMA-7 and that she is thankful to the Network for always opening its doors to her.

"I'm happy to be back.  As always naman, kung sino yung magbibigay sa atin ng mas magandang offer o mas magandang show, as an actress, yun ang pipiliin natin.  Pero I am happy kasi [GMA] is my home na rin, home naman nating lahat ito," says Tolentino.

Atty. Gozon, on the other hand, said that Tolentino is "very, very welcome" in GMA. "Si Lorna ay very very welcome sa atin dito sa GMA-7 sapagkat siya ay isa sa pinakamagagaling na artista na kilala natin.  At nung maghiwalay naman tayo noong nakaraan ay naging maganda naman ang ating usapan," he said.

"Lorna is not only a fine and versatile actress, she is also extremely talented and very professional.  At tayo ay natutuwa na maski nawala siya sa atin for a while ay bumalik na siya," said Duavit.

Tolentino's last project in GMA before she left was the showbiz-oriented talk show "StarTalk," which is celebrating its 17th anniversary this month.  She will guest in the show's anniversary special on October 20. She clarified, however, that she won't be back in the show as co-host, although she is open to hosting a non-showbiz talk show. Her original comeback project was the primetime series, "Haram," which the management of the network decided to shelve several weeks ago due to its highly sensitive topic. She and the rest of the cast of the series, however, will be starring in another family drama.

Asked about the possibility of being paired with Dingdong Dantes in a sort of "May-December" love story, Tolentino has no hesitations about the idea except for its possible time slot.

"Ok lang, kaya lang delikado ang konti ng tema, baka hindi pupuwede sa early na timeslot if it's going to be a May-December love story," she said.(www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)

Is Ian Batherson the Next Starstruck Hunk to Transfer from Kapuso to Kapamilya Network?!

After Paulo Avelino, another Kapuso hunk actor and also a product of their artista reality search Starstruck is now rumored to transfer to the Kapamilya network. He is no other than Ian Batherson!

Ian is Starstruck V alumnus. He even joined another Kapuso reality show "Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown" last year.

Though nothing is not yet official, the rumor was confirmed by Ian himself via his official Twitter account. Last August 24, he tweeted the word "Kapamilya!!!!!" which gave speculations to many.

Then early in September, Ian tweeted: "Got more things coming up in my career MALAKING changes. Makikita mo ko sa big screen soon. ;) work hard play hard ppl!"

After his Starstruck and Survivor Philippines days, Ian only got one TV series in GMA-7. And this is the afternoon soap "Sisid" together with Jackie Rice and JC Tiuseco. This maybe one of the reasons why he is set to transfer to the rival network.

If the transfer of Ian to ABS-CBN pushes through, then he will be the next Starstruck alumni to switch network following the footsteps of Johan Santos, his batch mate Piero Vergara, the late Tyron Perez, Paul Salas (Starstruck Kids), Jewel Mische, Megan Young, Cristine Reyes and Paulo Avelino!

Iza Calzado Plays a Doctor with a Bipolar Disorder in Her Second 'MMK' Episode!

Award-winning actress Iza Calzado will once again star in a heavy drama episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya" Saturday (September 15).

In her second "MMK" since she transferred to ABS-CBN, Iza will portray the character of Rosalyn, a doctor who suffered from major depression due to a series of unfortunate incidents in her life, particularly because of her philandering father, Gilbert (Bembol Roco).

At first, she was diagnosed to have paranoia and major depression; but later on Rosalyn was brought to a psychiatrist who declared that she was ill with bipolar disorder.

Aside from Iza and Bembol, the upcoming "MMK" episode will feature Louella De Cordova, Cheska Iñigo, Pia Romero, Phytos Kyriacou, Ismael Clavero, Edward Mendez, Kalila Aguilos, Lowell Conales, Kyline Alcantara, and Sofia Millares. Rafael Rosell Expresses Excitement in Working with Marian Rivera!

"Kung pwede lang akong tumambling ngayon gagawin ko e (laughs). Ganun ako ka-excited. It’s a new journey, new people to work with, new atmosphere. Para sa akin change is good; it will help you develop more as a person not just as an actor. Mas mag-eexpand yung experience ko dito!”

This is how Rafael Rosell expressed during his contract signing with GMA-7. He is so excited to work in the Kapuso network most especially working Marian Rivera who will be his leading lady in the Philippine remake of the Korean series “Temptation of Wife.”

He candidly shared his initial impression of Marian. “To be honest, I’ve heard a lot of rumors about her – both positive and negative – pero sa akin kasi until makausap ko talaga yung tao hindi ako naniniwala. Pero nung nakasama ko siya doon ko nakita that she’s a very nice person, she’s nothing like what people are saying. Para sa akin, first-hand experience is what matters,” he said.

Rafael did not expect that upon his transfer to GMA-7, he will immediately venture into primetime with GMA’s Primetime Queen.

“Sobrang honored talaga ako kasi hindi ko naman inexpect na yun kaagad ang ibibigay sa akin ng GMA pagdating ko dito,” said Rafael.

Rafael said that working in a new network feels like joining show business once again.

“Tulad nga ng sinabi ko sa mga kaibigan ko, para akong nag-uumpisang mag-artista ulit. Naaalala ko yung unang punta ko dito sa Pilipinas, I was so excited, I was inspired, ganon na ganon ang nararamdaman ko ngayon kaya sobrang excited po ako,” he said.

Since the expiration of his contract with ABS-CBN’s Star Magic, Rafael’s career has been managed by Popoy Caritativo who is also the manager of Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo.

“Matagal ko na rin kasing naririnig sa mga friends ko sa industriya na interesado si Popoy na mag-manage sa akin and so nung mag-expire yung contract ko with Star Magic, siya ang unang naisip ko. Nag-meeting kami at wala naman kaming naging problema sa terms and conditions namin, at OK yung rapport namin, and so siya na,” shared Rafael.

Before working on “Temptation of Wife,” Rafael Rosell taped two episodes of Chef Boy Logro’s “Kusina Master” and he will also appear in the first week of the upcoming primetime fantasy series, “Aso ni San Roque.”

“Sa ‘Aso ni San Roque’ first time ko pong makatrabaho ang isang hayop (aso) and doon ko na-realize na after midnight, kahit tao pa man o hayop talagang hindi na nakakasunod sa mga direction and command,” he quipped.(www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)
