The 2012 TV Series Craze Awards Winner: Mario Maurer is the International Male Celebrity of the Year!

Thai Heartthrob Superstar Mario Maurer created a louder noise in the country this 2012. No doubt why he emerged as this year's International Male Celebrity of the Year here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards.  

This category is another newest addition to our annual online awards which give recognition to the best of the best for the year. And Mario is the very first winner of this category! 

The year 2012 seems to be a domination of different male international celebrities. For this year, we have Zac Efron, Lee Min Ho, David Archuleta, Adam Levine, Ian Somerhalder, Philip Philips, boyband One Direction, K-Pop Siwon and Donghae, and Mario Maurer. But Mario emerged on top of them!

With an overall percentage votes of 55.54%, Mario vested the other men in this category. Placing next to him is the Koreanovela superstar Lee Min Ho with an overall percentage votes of 18.26% and taking the third spot is Zac Efron with an overall percentage votes of 9.57%.

Mario also made his second major visit in the country this year for his very first Pinoy movie "Suddenly Its Magic" pairing him with Erich Gonzales.

Mario became closer to the Filipino hearts last 2011 when his hit Thai movie "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" was shown in ABS-CBN. After that, he became an endorser of the leading clothing brand Penshoppe completing the All-Star campaign of the said brand.

Mario Maurer Takes a Matured Role in the Sexy Movie 'Jan Dara!'

After portraying a wholesome boy-next door character of Marcus in the recently hit movie "Suddenly It's Magic," Thai heartthrob superstar Mario Maurer now takes a matured sexy role in the Thai erotic movie "Jan Dara."      

"Jan Dara" is actually a remake of the popular Thai film in 2001 based from the erotic novel of Utsana Phleungtham.

The setting was in 1930's. The story revolves around the family whose lives are greatly influenced by sex.

In the story, Mario plays the character of Jan Dara. He grows up in a house lacking in love but abundant in lust which under the control of his sadistic father, Luang Wissanan (Sakarat Ritthumrong). 

More on the story, Aunt Wad (Bongkot Kongmalai), Jan’s stepmother, raised Jan up and he absorbingly picks up the sinful way of life. 

Jan struggles with his guilt and relationship with different women in his life, including a girl called Hya-sinh, whom he likes, and later Madame Boonleung (Rhatha Phongam), his father’s lover. They become parts of Jan’s sexual awakening.

Mario Maurer and Erich Gonzales Share the "Magic" of 'Suddenly It's Magic' in the Movie's Grand Presscon!

 Thai Superstar Mario Maurer finally arrived in Manila and graced a grand presscon together with the whole cast of the exciting romance-comedy film, "Suddenly It's Magic." The event took place in ABS-CBN Dolphy Theater, Monday Night, October 29, 2012.

The event becomes more exciting as the lead stars Mario and Erich Gonzales shared interesting experience while filming the movie as well as enthusiastically answered exciting questions from the press!

Mario whom for the first time did a Filipino movie described the Filipino women as sexy and caring. He shared the hospitality showcased to him by the Filipinas most specially his leading lady Erich.

One thing that Mario didn't forgot about Erich was their slapping scene where Erich slapped him on his face. Mario jokingly uttered that Erich's hand was powerful!

 Mario also revealed the Tagalog words he learned while doing the movie. It's surprising to note that aside from "Mahal Kita," "Salamat." and "Mahal Ko Kayo," the Filipino termed he learned much was the word "sabi!" He even uttered the said word with action and expression from his face revealing his cute personality! When asked to whom where he learned the said word, Mario said that he learned it from the whole cast! "They always say it," he said.

If Mario revealed his impression to the Filipino women, Erich on the other hand shared her impression to the Thai men. According to him, Thai men were charming. And Mario is a perfect example of it!

 Kakai Bautista who is also member of the lead cast shared interesting fact about Mario. She said, "'Nung nasa Ilocos kami na sobrang init, hindi mo maririnig si Mario na humihingi ng tubig o nagrereklamong naiinitan!" He is so cool while shooting the movie.

Another member of the lead cast is the Kapamilya returnee Joross Gamboa. Joross' character in the movie is challenging - he is playing a gay man, the bestfriend and sidekick of Erich!

 Joross even shared his bonding moment with Mario. He said, "kami ang laging magkasama at magkasundo ni Mario." The Thai heartthrob agreed!

Joy's attire in the night's event was extra-ordinary which captivated the attention of the press and audience. She was wearing an Egyptian-like outfit. According to her, her costume was fresh from Thailand! And take note (as she said), she was the Filipina cast who was together with Erich and Mario shooting in Thailand!     

Joy even revealed that her eldest son is older than Mario. "So imposible na ma-inlove ako kay Mario. Mother love na lang siguro," Joy shared which made the audience laugh! 

The movie is written by the great writer Ms. Vanessa Valdez who is also the writer of the blockbuster hit "The Mistress." But this movie was earlier created than the "The Mistress." It was conceptualized in June right after the contract signing of Mario with ABS-CBN and Star Cinema.

In the movie, Mario is playing the character of the Thai actor Marcus Hanson who fell in love with the heartbroken pastry baker Joey Hermosa played by Erich!

Thai superstar Mario Maurer recently joined the biggest stars of ABS-CBN in bringing smiles to the faces of thousands of Filipinos during the grand visit of "ASAP 2012" in Singapore.

After the warm welcome of ASAP Kapamilya, the lead actor of Star Cinema’s upcoming film "Suddenly It's Magic" further added entertainment in the show by hosting and through a special production number that he offered to his fans. But the crowd turned wilder when Mario announced that his film with Erich Gonzales will have a Singapore screening beginning November 1.

'Suddenly It's Magic' Starring Mario Maurer and Erich Gonzales Brings a Magical Filipino-Thai Romance!

 

Star Cinema’s first Filipino-Thai film topbilled by Thai superstar Mario Maurer and Filipina primetime princess actress is all set to spread romance among Pinoy moviegoers with its approaching release in cinemas nationwide on October 31 (Wednesday).

Led by multi-awarded movie and TV director Rory B. Quintos, the film shares a modern-day fairytale between popular Thai actor Marcus (Mario) and a simple Filipina baker Joey (Erich) who are both in pursuit of their respective happiness.

“The movie is really about unconditional love,” explained Direk Rory. “It’s about learning how to let go and set free of the person you love so that he or she could fulfill his or her greatest potential. So when he or she comes back to you, you will really be loved.”

Direk Rory revealed that when the concept of “Suddenly It’s Magic” was approved, Mario was asked to choose his leading lady for the film. “They had sent pictures of several Filipino actresses of his generation and Mario was given the chance to choose,” she narrated.  “And when I found out that it was Erich, I was really happy because I know how good she is as an actress.” It was reported that Mario chose Erich because of he found her so beautiful, very Filipina-looking, and a talented actress.

The instant chemistry between Mario and Erich was personally witnessed by Direk Rory. “On the first day of shooting, first sequence, first shot, right away kitang-kita ‘yung chemistry,” she said. “Actually, when I had a story conference for both of them, I already saw that there was good chemistry. Bagay na bagay sila! They looked so good together.”

When asked about Mario as an actor, Direk Rory had nothing but good word for the Thai superstar. “What struck me the most was he seemed to be such a nice boy and he is really cute,” shared Direk Rory. “I think women of all generations would appreciate how cute he is and you’ll actually see in his eyes that he is a good person.”

Likewise, the award-winning director adores the film’s leading lady. “I’ve worked with her for almost a year in the TV series ‘Maria la del Barrio’ and we got along very well,” she explained. “Erich is very young and a very good actress. Marami pa siyang magagawa in the future, I have no doubt that in the future she will bring awards at ang layo-layo pa ng mararating niya sa buhay.”
