At 11:00 am today, the low pressure area West of Metro Manila has developed into a tropical depression and was named DODONG.
DODONG was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 60 km South Southeast of Iba, Zambales (15.1°N, 119.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 15 kph.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast shows that on Friday morning, "Dodong" is estimated at 210 km West of Laoag City. And on Saturday morning, it is expected to be at 440 km West Northwest of Basco, Batanes.
