"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn died in a car accident early Monday morning near his home in Pennsylvania as confirmed by her mother April Margera. He was 34.
NBC Philadelphia reports that Dunn and another male passenger died in a 3 a.m crash at Route 322 and New Street in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania.
According to the West Goshen Police Department, Dunn and another passenger died at around 3 a.m when Dunn's 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 went off the road in West Goshen and was in flames.
On Monday morning, Johnny Knoxville, the head of the “Jackass” clan, tweeted: “Today I lost my brother Ryan Dunn. My heart goes out to his family and his beloved Angie. RIP Ryan, I love you buddy.”
"Jackass' " Jason "Weeman" Acuña tweeted Monday of Dunn: "I MISS YOU BUD!! You were always a happy kick-ass dude!!"
"We're deeply saddened by the passing of a member of the MTV family, Ryan Dunn. Our hearts and thoughts are with his friends and family." MTV tweeted on Monday morning.
Now, an autopsy on Dunn's body is being carried out to determine if alcohol played a part in his death.
There have been conflicting reports about Dunn’s final hours after he posted a photograph of himself drinking with pals in Barnaby’s bar on Sunday night. TMZ has reported that Dunn had six alcoholic drinks – including beer and shots - before he got behind the wheel. One source who was at the same bar as Dunn has alleged the star was “wasted”, but another reveller insisted he wasn’t “too drunk to drive”.
However, one of the bar staff has also come forward to say Ryan “didn’t seem intoxicated”.
An official police report explains that a “preliminary investigation revealed that excessive speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident”.
