Jennylyn Mercado's "Rosario" Receives Good Reviews at 2011 Shanghai International Film Festival


"Rosario", Cinemabuhay and Studio 5's movie entry to last year Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) got a good reviews and recognitions in the recently concluded 14th Shanghai International Film Festival.

The Jennylyn Mercado starrer was one of the nine finalists from amongst the 1,000 submitted film entries all over Asia in the filmfest's Asian New Talent Award Competition Film.

Although the award went to China's entry "Return Ticket", Rosario's director Albert Martinez who attended the festival said he also felt like a winner when he received good reviews and praises from other filmmakers and movie watchers who attended and watched his first directorial movie. One of whom is Maggie Lee, program director of the Tokyo International Film Festival, who invited Albert to enter his film in competition at the Tokyo film festival in October. Lee is also a columnist for Hollywood Reporter and promised Martinez that she's going to write a review of "Rosario".
