Joey Marquez Returns to the Hit Sitcom 'TodaMax!'

Veteran comedian Joey Marquez returns to “Toda Max” for a string of guestings this January and February.

He will portray as Daniel, Lady G’s (Pokwang) one true love. He first appeared in “Toda Max” early 2012 where he competed with Tol (Binoe) for Lady G’s attention. This time, he will do the contrary by helping Lady G and Justin (Vhong) gain back lost sales because of the newly passed Sin Tax Bill.

This Saturday (January 26), Daniel will try all sorts of gimmicks to make people return to their vices including the plan to turn Justin’s restaurant into a night club and a gambling hub.

Kris Aquino, Ai Ai Delas Alas, and Vice Ganda Spread Surprises in the Grand Presscon of 'Sisterakas!'

 

What does Kris Aquino, Ai Ai Delas, and Vice Ganda have in common?! Well, all of them were "Queens of the Blockbuster" movies whom already shared remarkable movies in the history of Philippine Cinemas - Vice for "Praybeyt Benjamin," Kris for "Feng Shui," and Ai Ai for the "Tanging Ina" series.   

What more, Kris and Ai Ai were already faces of the Metro Manila Film Festival, remember Kris' "Dalaw"  in 2010 and "Segunda Mano" in 2011 while Ai Ai's "Ang Tanging Ina N'yong Lahat" (2009), "Ang Tanging Ina Last Na'to" (2010), and "Enteng ng Ina Mo" (2011)?! Meanwhile, this is Vice's very first MMFF movie in a leading role!    

With the combination of these three 'queens' plus today's hottest love team Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla or popularly known now as the KatNiel, expect for a hilarious blockbuster movie that will surely break the box-office record!             

But for the three lead stars of the movie, they treat this year's MMFF as a friendly competition. Kris and Ai Ai didn't aim to get the Best Actress award since many predicted that the superstar Ms. Nora Aunor could get the title as she got two challenging roles for two different movies namely "Thy Womb" and "El Presidente." "Sige po, kay Ate Guy na lang," Ai Ai said. "But who knows, may Himala! Nandyan pa sina Angel at Angelica (One More Try) na pwede ding mag-uwi ng award," the cast added!        

Kris on the other hand expect that her movie this year will take the No, 1 spot in the box-office and Best Picture's race. "Nung 2010 (Dalaw) kasi nag number 3 ako. Last year (Segunda Mano) naman, number 2. Maybe, it's about time na number 1 naman ngayon," she expressed! Take note that "Sisterakas" is Kris Aquino's very first non-horror movie entry to the MMFF.    

Kris seemed like a fortune teller last year when she predicted that her leading man Dingdong Dantes will take the Best Actor award for his effective portrayal in their movie "Segunda Mano." Therefore a member of the press asked her, "this year, who do you feel will be the best actor, could it be Dingdong Dantes again?!"  Kris immediately replied, "syempre kasama ko nuon si Dingdong kaya definitely, sya ang bet ko na manalo. Eh ngayon di ko na siya kasama. And definitely ang bet ko eh 'ung kasama ko now sa movie di ba! Di ko naman pwedeng sabihin na si Vice 'un eh ayaw naman niyang maging actor!"  

Meanwhile, Vice shared how prepare he is for this movie. "Dati nga isa lang ako kinaya ko, ngayon pa na lima kami (including the two young stars Kath and DJ)," s/he said!

In the movie, Vice and Ai Ai play the character of half-sisters Bernice and Detty. The two were rival sisters. Kris enters the competition as she portrays the character of Roselle! The story somewhat revolves around fashion and clothing!

Meanwhile, Daniel plays Angelo, the godson of Bernice who meets and fall in love with the character of Kathryn as Kathy. She is the daughter of Detty. Xyriel is Kathy's little sister who is also Detty's youngest daughter, the most matured character in the movie!

Hunk DJ Callum David and Brazilian actor Daniel Matsunaga have a special appearance in the movie. Watch out for the kissing scene of Ai Ai and Callum which makes the character of Kris jealous!   

The presscon eventually turned into a Grand Christmas party as Kris, Ai Ai, Vice, and Direk Wenn donated large amount of money which raffled in the last part of the event for the press and bloggers present during the night! Everyone went home happy as majority of the participants got the prizes! Cool!

Angel Locsin as Best Comedy Actress Nominee, Robin Padilla as Best Comedy Actor, Pokwang as Best Comedy Actress, and 'TodaMax' as Best Comedy Show Making The Sitcom as the Big Winner in the Star Awards for TV!

“Toda Max” won big in the PMPC Star Awards for Television recently after it received three awards out of its five nominations. The sitcom took home the Best Comedy/Gag Show Award, Best Comedy Actor Award for Robin Padilla and Best Comedy Actress Award for Pokwang. 

Robin and Pokwang’s co-nominees Vhong Navarro and Angel Locsin were delighted with the win of their co-stars. “Even though I didn’t win, just the thought of getting nominated for the Best Comedy Actress category is overwhelming for a first timer in comedy,” said Angel.

This is Robin’s first award in the comedy department while comedy veteran Pokwang has already received numerous awards in the same category.

“Even though I have received the same kind of award numerous times, I still feel surprised and overwhelmed at the support given to me. Thank you so much PMPC!” said Pokwang.

Robin also thanked PMPC and the sitcom’s loyal viewers. “It feels so great knowing that we already received two prestigious awards only after a year of airing,” he said. A big thank you to our viewers and to PMPC,” he said.

The sitcom received the same award from the Catholic Mass Media Awards recently.

Meanwhile, to continue the month-long anniversary of the sitcom, Direk Bobot Mortiz and Tirso Cruz III will visit Beverly Gil’s St. as Tatay Mac’s (Al Tantay) friends and band mates as well as Isabel’s (Angel) godfathers. The two will be excited to see Tatay Mac upon bumping into Isabel but the latter will inform her godfathers that her father still has a grudge towards them. Tol (Robin), Justin (Vhong), Isabel and Lady G (Pokwang) will try their best to reunite the three.

"Goin' Bulilit" Kids Treat a Hilarious Horror This Sunday!

The “Goin’ Bulilit” (GB) kids will give horror a bad name as they present Halloween jokes and gags this Sunday (October 28).

Find out more about Dracula’s love life in “Kasal ni Dracula” and travel to an enchanted world through the kids’ “Engkanto Gags”. They will also present their version of the hit horror film “Shake, Rattle and Roll” and bring heart-stopping stories in “Nagbabagang Balita”.

Everyone’s favorite segment “Ang Corny” and “Tanong Ko Lang” with a twist of horror will be presented while the cute bulilit girls will show everyone what they have in “Ask Girls”. The GB kids won’t be exempted from the Halloween scare as they will receive their share of horror in the segment “Practical Jokes”.

Meanwhile in the ratings game, “Goin’ Bulilit” claimed the second spot among the top-rating shows for last Sunday (October 21) with its 24.7% average audience share based on the urban and rural audience measurement data of Kantar Media. The kiddie gag show defeated its rival shows “Imbestigador” of GMA which received 19.6% and “Pinoy Explorer” of TV5 which garnered 5.8%.

Carmina Villaroel Joins BB Gandanghari's Utol Robin Padilla and Competes with Vhong Navarro via Cooking Showdown in 'TodaMax'!

Former wife of Rustom Padilla (who is now BB Gandanghari), Carmina Villaroel will join his brother in another exciting episode of "Todamax" this Saturday. And she will compete with the show's resident cook, Justin Bibo (Vhong Navarro). 

Vhong and Mina's kitchen tricks will be tested on “Toda Max” this Saturday (October 27) as the two battle it out in a cooking showdown.

“I am prepared for this cooking competition because of the lessons I learned from my culinary school. This showdown must not be missed,” said Carmina, this week’s “Toda Max” guest.

Carmina will play the role of Chef Mina, a four-time winner in the competition “That’s My Chef” who yearns to win one more time to be hailed as a Master Chef Hall of famer. Meanwhile, Tol (Binoe) and Justin (Vhong) will find out that Lady G (Pokwang) has forced evicted them from their home and that Tatay Mac (Al Tantay) and Isabel (Angel Locsin) are the new homeowners. To retrieve their home, Lady G requires them to give a down payment of P100,000.

Thinking that all hope’s gone, Justin will be invited by Chef Mina to compete with her in a cooking showdown to finally get her much-awaited win. If Justin beats her, she’ll give him a P100,000 cash prize.

'Toda Max' is CMMA's 2012 Best Comedy Program!

ABS-CBN’s sitcom “Toda Max” starring Robin Padilla, Vhong Navarro, Pokwang and Angel Locsin won the Best Comedy Program award in the 34th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) recently and according to Vhong, it is an honor to receive such award.

“To receive a nomination is already a great honor so imagine our surprise when Toda Max won. Our sitcom isn’t even a year old yet,” said Vhong.

He also said that since jurors behind the CMMA are academicians, civic and religious leaders and members of the clergy, they’re very sensitive in choosing the winners. “I think what contributed to our win is the fact that we don’t only make people laugh, we also make sure that they learn something from the show.”

Robin, who portrays Tol in the sitcom said, “Toda Max imparts moral values to the viewers and I think that’s one of the reasons why we won this award.”

The cast promises to continue making people laugh through their moral lesson-infused episodes.

Meanwhile on “Toda Max” this Saturday, Isabel (Angel Locsin) finally receives a job offer and hopes that her neighbors and family members will behave properly during the background inspection by her prospective clients. But they will be surprised by the return of Isabel’s aunt George (Gina Pareño) who was just recently pardoned from prison.
