Karlo Maquinto Dead
21-year-old Filipino boxer Karlo Maquinto died at exactly 10:15 on Friday, February 3, 2012.
Maquinto was rushed to FEU-NRMF Medical Center in West Fairview, Quezon City and was declared brain dead after suffering from subdural hematoma caused by his undercard boxing fight with another young Pinoy boxer Mark Joseph Costa of Jaro, Ilo-Ilo last Saturday, January 28 at the Recom Dome in Amparo Subdivision, Caloocan. He lost consciousness immediately after the announcement of a majority draw decision result.
The said undercard fight was part of Dodie Boy Penalosa, Jr.’s "Dugong Kampeon" bout with Thailand's Superjames Singmanasak.
Maquinto had a professional record of 8 wins, no loose and 1 draw.
