Manila Hostage Crisis Marks 1st Year Anniversary

Manila hostage crisis in Quirino Grandstand marks its 1st year anniversary yesterday.



And to remember the 8 Hong Kong nationals who were shot dead during the tragedy a Buddhist ceremony was held at the same location where the incident happened.



Radio dzMM reporter Noel Alamar said a Buddhist monk officiated the ceremony for the victims.



Relatives of the 8 Hong Kong nationals killed in the August 23 incident attendied the ceremony at the Quirino Grandstand.



The families were joined by Filipino anti-crime groups like Teresita Ang See’s Citizens Action against Crime and Dante Jimenez’s Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption.



Also present at the event were Tourism Secretary Alberto Lim and tourist police officials led by Superintendent Roberto Rongavilla.
