Hit Teen-Oriented Show 'LUV U' Turns One Year!

 Teen comedy series “LUV U” celebrates its first anniversary this February and according to one of its lead stars Miles Ocampo, she didn’t expect such warm acceptance from the viewers.

 “I had my doubts at first because everything was new; from the concept to our love teams,” she said.

Majority of the main cast came from the kiddie gag show “Goin’ Bulilit” but according to them, the transition wasn’t that hard. “After I graduated from Goin Bulilit, LUV U was my next major show,” said Miles. “I adjusted well because in Goin Bulilit, we were kids portraying as adults but in LUV U, we act as ourselves,” she said.

Marco Gumabao, Miles’ partner in LUV U, is the only newcomer in show business.

“It’s really fun to think that a year has already passed and my bond with Miles is still going strong. We even landed roles as a couple in the teleserye Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw. I’m really thankful to this show because it hones our acting skills,” he said.

According to the cast, they have a lot of ‘kilig moments’ in store for their viewers as another year unwraps. During their romantic anniversary celebration, they will have American composer and singer David Pomeranz as guest. “He’ll sing during our JS Prom in LUV U, so don’t miss it,” said Kiray Celis.

This Sunday (February 3), Principal Spencer (Smokey Manaloto) will announce the JS Prom which will make everyone excited. 'LUV U' Features the Date of Miles Ocampo and Marco Gumabao in Nuvali!

The “LUV U” gang travelled to Nuvali, Sta. Rosa for the special day of JB (Marco) and Camille (Miles).

According to Marco, he loved the location, a go-to place for lovers who want to take a break from the city. “The place is relaxing and there are a lot of interesting places to visit,” he said.

This Sunday on “LUV U”, he’ll take Camille to Nuvali, a romantic ambience to give her his present – a ring. However, he’ll show the ring earlier to his friend Rocky (Igi Boy Flores) who will accidentally drop it into the pond.

Kiray Prefers to Play 'Kontrabida' Roles!

She lands roles in heavy drama, romance and comedy but according to teen actress Kiray Celis, her most unforgettable experiences are as a ‘kontrabida’.

“My first kontrabida role was in Mara Clara. I found it really challenging to be a ‘maldita’ and I wasn’t sure at first if I was doing or saying the right things. But when I found out that a lot of viewers were starting to hate the character I was portraying, I felt comfortable with my acting,” she said.

If given a chance, she said she wants to get other villain roles. “It’s thrilling to be the one causing trouble,” she added. However, she clarified that comedy will always be a part of her because she loves making people happy just like what her character does in “LUV U”.

This Sunday (January 13) on “LUV U”, Whitney’s (Kiray) classmates will pull a prank on her by uploading a funny video of her on YouTube. Things will have a turnaround when a talent agency sees it and takes interest on signing her up for modeling.

A Second Chance for the Miles Ocampo-Marco Gumibao Relationship in 'LUV U!'

To be more forgiving and understanding are some of teen star Miles Ocampo’s New Year’s resolution because she believes everyone deserves a second chance.

“Not because you made a mistake means you’re not anymore worthy of trust. Everyone deserves a second chance,” she said. Apart from this, she also included prioritizing her studies more in her resolutions. “There are times I would come to class late and miss quizzes and assignments so this year, I will try my best to change that.”

It’s the same for actor Marco Gumabao, Miles’ onscreen partner in “LUV U”, who is currently an AB Psychology student at De La Salle University. “This is my first year in college so I found it really difficult to manage both career and studies at first but I learned that it’s all about time management and setting priorities,” he said.

Meanwhile on “LUV U” this Sunday (January 6), Camille (Miles) and JB (Marco) will finally reconcile with the help of Ayen (Karen Reyes) while Rocky (Igi Boy Flores) will try his best to make up with Whitney (Kiray Celis).

The 2012 TV Series Craze Awards Winner: 'LUV U' is the 2012 Best Youth-Oriented Series!

"LUV U," the ABS-CBN weekly teen-oriented show was chosen by the online voters, viewers, and netizens to be the "2012 Best Youth-Oriented Series" here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards.

For this year, the Kapamilya's "LUV U" and the Kapuso's "Together Forever" vie for the title. But since this year's poll was open for the voters' suggestions, the "others" choices comprised the other nominees from the netizens namely the "Tween Hearts" and "Growing Up."    

"LUV U" got an overall total votes of 85.96% while "Together Forever" received only 11.86% votes total. Meanwhile the remaining 2.18% was for the "Others" choices mentioned above. 

Last year, the Kathryn Bernardo-Julia Montes series "Growing Up" won the title.

"LUV U" started early this year replacing "Growing Up." Since it was started, it received high ratings and captured the hearts of many teens because of its humor and sitcom format.

The show even paved way to the rise of the newest teen star like Miles Ocampo and newest teen heartthrob crush Marco Gumabao.

Valerie Concepcion Visits the 'LUV U' Campus This Sunday!

Sexy actress Valerie Concepcion visits the teen comedy series “LUV U” this Sunday (December 2) as Margarita Avila, a guest speaker for the university’s book fair.

“I enjoyed having my moment as a motivational speaker even if it’s just in the show. Working with the cast was so fun and easy and they really listened to my talk so I felt like I was a real writer and speaker,” said Valerie who had guested at the show for the first time.

Margarita is the writer of the book “Lies, Lies, Lies” and Camille (Miles Ocampo) will ask for her help on what to do because she can’t stand not talking to JB (Marco Gumabao) anymore.

'LUV U' is Star Awards for TV Best Youth-Oriented Show Nominee!

The teen comedy show, “LUV U” is privileged to be one of the nominees in the Best Youth-Oriented category in the 26th PMPC Star Awards for Television that will be held on November 18.

Other ABS-CBN teen shows that will vie for the award are “Good Vibes” starred by Sam Concepcion, Enrique Gil and Coleen Garcia and “Growing Up” starred by Kathryn Bernardo, Julia Montes and Daniel Padilla.

“Win or lose, we’re proud and honored that our show got nominated. We’d like to thank PMPC Star Awards and our loyal viewers for their continuous support,” said Miles Ocampo, one of the lead stars of the show.

Marco Gumabao and Miles Ocampo portray as lovers in the teen comedy series “LUV U” and rumor has it that their fictional roles are becoming true.

“I guess we can't help to have these rumors. We’re almost always together at tapings,” said Miles. “But we're mostly with our co-stars too at the set.”

“LUV U” stars Kiray Celis and Igi Boy Flores were among the few named by President Benigno Aquino III as Peace Ambassadors of the country for the program, “I Am For Peace” launched recently at the Malacañan Palace.
 

“I feel so overwhelmed because I think there are a lot of more prominent artists yet Igi and I were chosen,” said Kiray who plays as Whitney in the hit comedy teen show “LUV U”.
 

Kapamilya stars Anne Curtis, Gerald Anderson, Megan Young and Christian Bautista were also included in the roster of the new Peace Ambassadors.

The hit Kapamilya youth-oriented show "LUV U" emerged as the most favorite teen-oriented show today based on the online poll survey that we had conducted!

  

On the battle of today's youth TV series, "LUV U" vested the Kapuso teen program "Together Forever" which is topbilled by the love team of Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magallona.

 

 

"LUV U" garnered an overall percentage vote of 77%  versus "Together Forever" which only got 22% of the total votes.

In today's generation, "LUV U"  is now the longest teen-oriented show of ABS-CBN. It is now running for 7 months now. It started last February 19, 2012.

The show comprises the former Bulilits who are now tweeners, such as Miles Ocampo, Angeli Gonzales, Kiray Celis, CJ Navato, and Igi Boy Flores. The program also introduces young heartthrob Marco Gumabao. Veteran comedians Joy Viado and Smokey Manaloto, together with sizzling hot babe Bangs Garcia completed the lineup of the cast.

And because "LUV U" continues to soar higher in terms of TV ratings and acceptance from the viewers, it is rumored that there will be a movie version of it soon in 2013!
