Kiray Prefers to Play 'Kontrabida' Roles!

She lands roles in heavy drama, romance and comedy but according to teen actress Kiray Celis, her most unforgettable experiences are as a ‘kontrabida’.

“My first kontrabida role was in Mara Clara. I found it really challenging to be a ‘maldita’ and I wasn’t sure at first if I was doing or saying the right things. But when I found out that a lot of viewers were starting to hate the character I was portraying, I felt comfortable with my acting,” she said.

If given a chance, she said she wants to get other villain roles. “It’s thrilling to be the one causing trouble,” she added. However, she clarified that comedy will always be a part of her because she loves making people happy just like what her character does in “LUV U”.

This Sunday (January 13) on “LUV U”, Whitney’s (Kiray) classmates will pull a prank on her by uploading a funny video of her on YouTube. Things will have a turnaround when a talent agency sees it and takes interest on signing her up for modeling.

Kiray and Igi Boy of 'LUV U' Are P-Noy's Peace Ambassadors!

 

“LUV U” stars Kiray Celis and Igi Boy Flores were among the few named by President Benigno Aquino III as Peace Ambassadors of the country for the program, “I Am For Peace” launched recently at the Malacañan Palace.
 

“I feel so overwhelmed because I think there are a lot of more prominent artists yet Igi and I were chosen,” said Kiray who plays as Whitney in the hit comedy teen show “LUV U”.
 

Kapamilya stars Anne Curtis, Gerald Anderson, Megan Young and Christian Bautista were also included in the roster of the new Peace Ambassadors.
As peace ambassadors, will Kiray and Igi find a way to reconcile their warring friends on “LUV U” this Sunday? Basketball team captain JB (Marco Gumabao) will be tasked by their coach to break the news to Boom (CJ Navato) that he’s out of the first five of the LUV U team. Boom will get furious as to why his friend JB didn’t do anything about it. Even their girlfriends Camille (Miles Ocampo) and April (Angeli Gonzales) will be set apart by the issue.
