7.3 Quake at Sumatra Indonesia Update Video, Tsunami Warning Now Cancelled
A 7.3 magnitude earthquake has struck off the west coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra early Wednesday, January 11, 2012.
The US Geological Survey said that the tremor hit at 2:37 a.m. (local time) around 420 kilometers southwest of Banda Aceh at a depth of 95 kilometers.
Although no damages and casualties were reported, a tsunami warning has been issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
