The 2012 TV Series Craze Awards Winner: 'Ina Kapatid Anak' is the Overall Best TV Series of 2012!

"Ina Kapatid Anak" rules! The hit ABS-CBN Primetime teleserye emerged as the Overall Best TV Series of 2012 here in our very own TV Series Craze!

The competition for this category is really stiff since many high-caliber teleseryes were shown this year from the three giant networks. But still, "Ina Kapatid Anak" able to beat them with a landslide overall percentage votes of 85.82%.

The so-called phenomenal hit TV series "Walang Hanggan" only placed second with a final votes of 5.54%. It is followed by the royal teleserye "Princess and I" in the third spot with 4.76%.

"Ina Kapatid Anak" is topbilled by today's hottest young stars namely Xian Lim, Maja Salvador, Enchong Dee, and Kim Chiu. Veteran stars namely Cherry Pie Picache, Janice De Belen, Ariel Rivera, Ronaldo Valdez, Eddie Gutierez, and Pilar Pilapil completed the whole cast members!

The teleserye is also the biggest winner in our awards this year as it got majority of the titles like Best Primetime TV Series, Best Theme Song ("Ngayon at Kailanman), Best TV Series Poster, Love Team of the Year (Kim and Xian), Leading Man of the Year (Xian Lim), and Leading Lady of the Year (Kim Chiu).

The 2012 TV Series Craze Awards Winner: Kim Chiu is the Leading Lady of the Year!

Primetime Princess Kim Chiu is hailed as the 2012 Leading Lady of the Year here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards!

Kim makes a successful TV series comeback via the hit Primetime teleserye "Ina Kapatid Anak" after her 2011 teleserye "My Binondo Girl." She is now playing the character of Celine, the humble yet a fighter daughter who will do everything to protect her mother.

In this category, Kim vested the other leading ladies from the other teleseryes like Julia Montes (Walang Hanggan), Kathryn Bernardo (Princess and I), Marian Rivera (Temptation of Wife / My Beloved), Bea Alonzo (A Beautiful Affair), Iza Calzado (Kahit Puso'y Masugatan), and Alex Gonzaga (Enchanted Garden).

Just like her leading man Xian Lim, Kim got a whooping landslide overall percentage votes of 86.93%. Taking the second spot is Kathryn who only got 4.9% and Julia in the third spot with only 3.74%.

The 2012 TV Series Craze Awards Winner: Xian Lim is the Leading Man of the Year!

For the second time around, the Kapamilya hunk actor Xian Lim emerged as the Leading Man of the Year here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards! Last year, Xian also grabbed the same title after leading in the teleserye "My Binondo Girl" wherein he played the character of Andy opposite Kim Chiu.    

Today, Xian is portraying the character of Liam, again opposite Kim in the hit TV series "Ina Kapatid Anak." His hunky boy-next door role made the people choose him to give the said title!

Xian got a landslide overall percentage votes of 88.81% beating the other leading men like Coco Martin (Walang Hanggan), Piolo Pascual (Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig), John Lloyd Cruz (A Beautiful Affair), Dingdong Dantes (My Beloved), Jake Cuenca (Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo), and Richard Yap (Be Careful With My Heart).   

Taking the second spot is Coco with 5.52%, the third spot is Daniel Padilla with 2.09%, and the fourth spot is Enrique Gil with 0.79%.

The 2012 TV Series Craze Awards Winner: Glaiza De Castro is the Kontrabida of the Year!

Kapuso actress Glaiza De Castro successfully returns playing antagonist character in the TV series. She is now portraying the character of Heidi, the villain of Marian Rivera in the Philippine adaptation of the hit Koreanovela "Temptation of Wife!" And her effective portrayal of being a villain made the people choose her to the 2012 Kontrabida of the Year here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards.  

Truly, a teleserye is meaningless or lacking of twist and conflicts without a kontrabida! Yes, they really add more color to the story and let the bida stands out! It's nice to know that Glaiza emerged as the year's "Kontrabida of All the Kontrabidas" after grabbing the title!

With an overall percentage votes of 54.38%, Glaiza defeated the other villains from the different teleseryes! She vested Paulo Avelino, the famous Nathan of the phenomenal hit TV series "Walang Hanggan" who only got an overall percentage votes of 24.72% taking the second spot! She even dethrone Greatchen Barretto who is known now as Ashi Behati of the royal-serye "Princess and I" who only received an overall percentage votes of 7.93% and landed on the third place!

After playing the young Piolo Pascual in the ABS-CBN Primetime drama series "Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig," teen actor Francis Magundayao immediately rose in fame. His tandem with Ella Cruz in the same teleserye also becomes well-accepted by people!

Well, no doubt why Francis emerged as this year's Most Promising Male New Face here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards beating the other newcomer young actors for 2012.  

With an overall percentage votes of 42.91%, Francis vested Jerome Ponce of "Be Careful with My Heart" who got 27.37% (second place), Khalil Ramos of "Princess and I" who received 17.55% (third place), and Dom Roque of "Aryana" with 5.51% (fourth place).

The 2012 TV Series Craze Awards Winner: Ella Cruz is the 2012 Most Promising Female New Face!

Ella Cruz is this year's newest young star who shines biggest! After portraying the character of young Cristine Reyes as Jasmin in the drama series "Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig," Ella landed a lead role in the fantaserye "Aryana" wherein she plays the character of a teen mermaid.   

Ella also emerged as this year's Most Promising Female New Face here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards. She vested the other newcomers like Kristel Fulgar, Max Collins, Michelle Vito, Thea Tolentino 

Ella got an overall percentage votes of 84.61% making her grab the title. Placing the second spot are the choices nominated by the voters with a percentage votes of 7.04%. Max Collins landed on the third spot with 6.8% votes.

The 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival 1st Best Picture Award Winner "One More Try" climbed at the No. 2 spot in the Day 4 (December 28, 2012) box-office race overtaking "Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote, at Si Ako."  Still, the Star Cinema's comedy flick "Sisterakas" dominates at the No. 1 spot.

Another new category was added this year here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards. And this is the Breakthrough Movie of the Year. And for 2012, the movie which makes it on the title is no other than..."The Healing!"

"The Healing" is a horror-suspense flick from Star Cinema. The movie marks the comeback of the Star for All Season Ms. Vilma Santos in the movie scene. This is also her very first tandem with the country's one of the hottest young stars today Kim Chiu.

The movie got a landslide overall percentage votes of 88.48% giving it the Breakthrough Movie of 2012 title! Taking the second spot is another Star Cinema and the second movie of Kim Chiu for the year, "24/7 in Love" with an overall percentage votes of 5.43%. The 2012 TV Series Craze Awards Winner: Mario Maurer is the International Male Celebrity of the Year!

Thai Heartthrob Superstar Mario Maurer created a louder noise in the country this 2012. No doubt why he emerged as this year's International Male Celebrity of the Year here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards.  

This category is another newest addition to our annual online awards which give recognition to the best of the best for the year. And Mario is the very first winner of this category! 

The year 2012 seems to be a domination of different male international celebrities. For this year, we have Zac Efron, Lee Min Ho, David Archuleta, Adam Levine, Ian Somerhalder, Philip Philips, boyband One Direction, K-Pop Siwon and Donghae, and Mario Maurer. But Mario emerged on top of them!

With an overall percentage votes of 55.54%, Mario vested the other men in this category. Placing next to him is the Koreanovela superstar Lee Min Ho with an overall percentage votes of 18.26% and taking the third spot is Zac Efron with an overall percentage votes of 9.57%.

Jessica is the Filipino-Mexican young singing who placed as the First  Runner Up in the hit "American Idol" reality singing competition. With her achievement, Filipinos were truly proud of her and she truly became the talk of the town in the country!

No doubt why she emerged as the winner in this category defeating the other female international celebrities who created noise this year. Jessica received an overall percentage votes of 37.33% putting her on the No. 1 spot. Taking the second place is Baifern Pimchanok, the leading lady of Mario Maurer in the hit Thai movie "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," with an overall percentage votes of 25.34% while the singer Katy Perry followed on the third spot with an overall percentage votes of 14.82%.

Zaijan Jaranilla is hailed as this 2012's Child Wonder of the Year here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards.  

Zaijan made a successful TV series comeback via Primetime Bida's "Lorenzo's Time" wherein he played the character of a 40-year old child. He even one of the lead cast of the Star Cinema movie "24/7 in Love" together with his female counterpart Xyriel Ann Manabat. 

Zaijan vested the other child stars like Bugoy Cariño, Jillian Ward, Yogo Singh, and Mona Louise Rey who also lead in their own TV series this year. Zaijan received an overall percentage votes of 52.16%.

Kim Chiu and Xian Lim or popularly known now as "KimXi" as a love team emerged as this year's TV Series Love Team of the Year here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards.

TV Series Love Team of the Year is another new category added this year in response to the request of many fans and viewers since different love teams rise up this year from the different TV series. Some of the new love team which emerge this year are Jodi Sta. Maria-Richard Yap (Be Careful with my Heart), Elmo Magallona-Julie Ann San Jose (Together Forever), Francis Maguindayao and Ella Cruz (Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig), and Coco Martin-Julia Montes (Walang Hanggan). But of course, still present in the battlefield are Kathryn Bernardo-Daniel Padilla (Princess and I), Marian Rivera-Dingdongh Dantes (My Beloved), Louise Delos Reyes-Alden Richards (One True Love), Jake Cuenca-Shaina Magdayao (Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo), and Aljur Abrenica-Kris Bernal (Coffee Prince).      

But among these love teams, the tandem of Kim and Xian is still love by many viewers. Their tandem received a whooping 88.28% overall percentage votes beating the other pairs. Kathryn and Daniel or KathNiel placed second which got only 6.4% votes followed by Coco and Julia with only 3.09% votes.

The  2012 Metro Manila Film Festival awards night was just recently concluded! And the list of winners from the eight film entries has been revealed!

 "One More Try,"  the Star Cinema's entry to the festival received the Best Picture award while its male lead cast Dingdong Dantes won the Best Actor award and "Thy Womb" lead star Nora Aunor is this year's Best Actress!

The historical action-drama "El Presidente: The Emilio Aguinaldo Story" starring George Estregan was the most awarded movie of the year but was only snatched the Second Best Picture award.

The 2012 TV Series Craze Awards Winner: 'City Hunter' is the 2012 Asianovela of the Year!

Korean heartthrob Lee Min Ho made a great comeback in the Philippine TV series world this year via the action-drama "City Hunter." And his teleserye emerged as the 2012 Asianovela of the Year here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards.   

"City Hunter" got an overall percentage votes of 31.15% beating the other ABS-CBN Asianovelas namely "Dream High" with 20.61% placing second and "Two Wives"with 14.99% placing third.

Because of the success of "City Hunter," the series was replayed in the afternoon block as one of the Kapamilya Gold line-ups. 

Even the lead star Lee Min Ho visited the country for his newest endorsement of a local clothing brand.

Last year, it was another Kapamilya Primetime Koreanovela "Pure Love" who snatched the title!

The 2012 TV Series Craze Awards Winner: "Ngayon at Kailanman," the OST of 'Ina Kapatid Anak' is the 2012 Best TV Series Theme Song!

"Ngayon at Kailan," a classic OPM hit love song originally performed by Basil Valdez is the theme song of the No. 1 Primetime TV series today, "Ina Kapatid Anak." The new version which is used in the teleserye is done by Ariel Rivera. And this theme song emerged as the 2012 Best TV Series Theme Song here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards.

The song vested the other teleserye theme songs like "Nag-Iisang Bituin" (Princes and I), "Hanggang sa Dulo ng Walang" (Walang Hanggan), and "After All" (A Beautiful Affair) which took the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th spots respectively!

"Ngayon at Kailanman" accumulated an overall percentage votes of 89.29%, a figure too far from its contenders!

Ariel Rivera who gives a new life to this classic OPM hit is also one of the lead stars of the teleserye playing the father of Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador.    

Last year, we may recall that the theme song of "My Binondo Girl" called "Sino Ako" sung by Regine Velasquez grabbed the title for this category! And it's good to note that the said teleserye is also a Kim Chiu starrer!

MMFF 2012 First Day Box Office Results: 'Sisterakas' Leads!

The official twitter account of Metro Manila Film Festival tweeted a while the first day box office results of the eight movie entries.

The Star Cinema comedy entry "Sisterakas" lead the race with a December 25 revenue of Php 39.2 Million followed by the fantasy-comedy series "Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote, at Si Ako." 

MMDA announced only the top 4 movies (with actual income figure) who topped the race on the first day. Here they are:

Metro Filmfest Dec 25 Gross Revenue Update (Top 4): 

1. "Sisterakas"  -                                                 Php 39.2 Million

2. "Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote, at Si Ako" -     Php 29.5 Million

3. "One More Try"                                        -     Php 13.6 Million

4. "Shake Rattle and Roll 14: The Invasion"   -     Php 10.5 Million

Taking the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th slots were "The Strangers," "El Presidente," "Sosy Problems,"  and "Thy Womb." The first-day gross income of these movies were not yet revealed by MMDA!

'One More Try' in the Director's Perspective!

Award-winning director Ruel S. Bayani describes his newest masterpiece "One More Try," starred by Angel Locsin, Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban, as a unique family drama that will touch the hearts of moviegoers in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). "One More Try," which is graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board, will hit cinemas nationwide on Tuesday, Christmas day (December 25).

"It is still a unique kind of family drama. Yes, nandoon iyong sexy adult theme. Nandoon ang love scenes at 'yung sex appeal nung apat na main cast," shared Bayani, who was so impressed with the performance of Angel, Dingdong, Zanjoe and Angelica in the movie. "I would say that it is the sexiest kind of family drama. I think, umuusok siya sa screen. Bumagay ang mga actors ko sa roles nila. Casting coup ito!"

Bayani, who was also the director of the box-office hit "No Other Woman," believes that the unique and brave narrative of "One More Try" is perfect to be seen by families during Christmas.

"One More Try' is a movie that will be enjoyed be a lot of people. Kapupulutan ito ng aral at paghuhugutan ng inspirasyon ng maraming pamilyang Pilipino," said Bayani. "Here, they will discover that a true Filipino family stays together. They go through a crisis and survive that crisis together and they become better people after."

Bayani further shared that the beauty of 'One More Try' lies on the message it imparts to the moviegoers. 'Sisterakas' is Ai Ai Delas Alas, Vice Ganda, and Kris Aquino's Gift to Families!

Meanwhile, according to Kris, who will play as a villain for the first time, “Sisterakas” is perfect for the whole family. "During the past two festivals kasi PG-13 'yung ginawa ko. This is my first GP talaga, kaya happy ang anak ko dahil walang patayan, walang dugo," shed said. "Ang maganda sa 'Sisterakas,' from lolo all the way to apo ay mag-e-enjoy. At the end of the day, llike any movie from Star Cinema, this is really for the Filipino family. Mararamdaman niyo dito kung ano ang pinagdadaanan ng bawat nilalang para mapaligaya ang magulang niya, maalagaan ang mga anak niya, maibangon ang sarili niya."

Like Kris, AiAi is also proud of "Sisterakas" being a family-oriented film. "Although dedicated mother pa rin ang role ko dito, tungkol sa mag-sisters ang kwento. So first time ko magkakapelikulang tungkol sa magkapatid," she said. "Sa panahon ngayon, the best thing to share is love. At ngayong Pasko, napakasaya na tumatawa tayo and at the same time puno ng pagmamahal ang nararamdaman natin."

Direk Wenn, on the other hand, assured that moviegoers who will see “Sisterakas” will laugh out loud from start to finish. "Ngayon ka lang makakakita ng ganitong klaseng pelikula at ng ganitong klaseng tema ngayong Pasko," said the director. "For the spirit of Christmas, wag muna nating problemahin ang mundo.
