27-year-old Chris Hemsworth - the star "Thor" - was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. His first acting stint was in the Australian soap opera “Home and Away.” He then moved to Hollywood and bagged some supporting roles in the films Star Trek, A Perfect Getaway and Ca$h.
He's most memorable role in the movie so far and possibly his "claim to fame" ever is his portrayal of Marvel superhero “Thor”. He is also set to reprise this role in the ambitious screen adaptation of the graphic novel “The Avengers.”
Hemsworth, who is married to 34-year-old Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, is the older brother of 21-year-old Miley Cyrus ex-flame Liam Hemsworth.
The film “Thor”, which is showing now in the Philippines and other Asian countries, is set for release in the United States and other parts of the globe this May 6.
"Thor" also stars Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander and Anthony Hopkins with Kenneth Branagh at the helm under a script by Mark Protosevich, Ashley Miller, Zack Stentz and Don Payne.
