Sexy actress Valerie Concepcion visits the teen comedy series “LUV U” this Sunday (December 2) as Margarita Avila, a guest speaker for the university’s book fair.

“I enjoyed having my moment as a motivational speaker even if it’s just in the show. Working with the cast was so fun and easy and they really listened to my talk so I felt like I was a real writer and speaker,” said Valerie who had guested at the show for the first time.

Richard Gomez and Robin Padilla Fight Over Pokwang in 'Todamax!'

Pokwang is having the time of her life as she is constantly being paired with handsome actors. In the recently released movie “24/7 In Love”, she is paired up with Sam Milby and this time in “Toda Max”, she’ll have two gentlemen wooing her, Richard Gomez and Robin Padilla.

'Be Careful With My Heart' is Extended Until Middle of 2013!

Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap both feel blessed with how 2012 turned their careers around through their undisputed no.1 daytime TV program “Be Careful With My Heart,” which was recently announced to be extended until middle of 2013.

'One More Try' Combines Angel Locsin, Zanjoe Marudo, Angelica Panganiban, and Dingdong Dantes in One Dramatic Masterpiece!

'Pahiram ng Sandali:' A Recap of the First Two Episodes!

For those who missed the first two episodes of GMA's newest primetime drama program "Pahiram ng Sandali," it's time to catch up on its exciting story. The series stars Dingdong Dantes (Alex), Max Collins (Cindy), Christopher de Leon (Philip) and Ms. Lorna Tolentino (Janice) with Alessandra de Rossi (Baby), Mark Gil (Larry), Sandy Andolong (Thea), Neil Ryan Sese (Andrew), Isabel Rivas (Diana), Kristofer Martin (Franz), among others.

Here's a summary of the said episodes:

The story began with a scene in the middle of a hostage crisis.  An exasperated bolo-wielding man threatens to end the life of an elderly woman whom he held hostage out of despair over his marital problems.

Meanwhile, an aspiring journalist named Alex Santiago (Dingdong Dantes) applies as an intern under the tutelage of Romer Alcaraz (Roy Alvarez), a veteran hard news reporter and columnist of the tabloid, "Pinoy Reporter."

As a test, Romer Alcaraz challenges Alex and three other aspirants for the job to go and cover the on-going hostage crisis and come up with a plausible news story.  Whoever gets the best angle to the story gets the job.

Alex accepted the challenge but as soon as he returns to where he had parked his motorcycle, a woman hurried away with it.  He would later learn that the woman's name is Cindy and that she had escaped from her boyfriend who attempted to take advantage of her.  

Even without his motorcycle, Alex still managed to reach the site of the hostage-taking.  In his attempt to get the best viewpoint of the scene, he climbed up the roof of the house where the hostage taker and his hostage were and took a snapshot using his mobile phone through a hole in the roof.  But the structure wasn't strong enough to support his weight and so it caved in and ultimately Alex came crashing down to the floor. He fought with the infuriated hostage taker, and just as he thought he had knocked him down, he received a heavy blow on to his head from the hostage who owned the house. In the end, Alex lost his motorcycle, then his consicousness and, finally, his bid for the job.

Flashback to Alex's childhood.  Alex is an illigitimate child; He grew up not knowing who his real father is, and so he was always a favorite victim of bullies at school.  He was called by his classmates "putok sa buho" which is a derogatory phrase used to mock children who were born out of wedlock.

No longer able to withstand the bullying, Alex engaged in a fistfight with his classmates. The incident dismayed Alex's mom, Thea (Sandy Andolong). Alex demanded that his mom tell him who his father is.  In the end, Thea was left without a choice but to tell him the whole truth: that Alex's father is Larry Gomez (Mark Gil), the managing editor of "The Philippine Examiner," considered the most respected and most influential newspaper in the country.

Thea attempted to introduce Alex to his father but when she brought the boy to him, Larry drove them away.  He even offered them money and when a coin dropped to the ground, he told the boy he could take it as well.  Since then, Alex developed deep hatred against his father.  It worsened when Alex saw how much Larry loved JR, his son with Diana Gomez (Isabel Rivas), the woman who was instrumental in catapulting Larry to his present stature.

Back to present time, Thea married her suitor Berting who turned out to be a batterer.  One day, Berting beat Thea so badly that she had to be rushed to the hospital because of an injury to her spleen.  She needs to undergo a major treatment but she has no financial means to do so.

Meanwhile, Alex found out that a photo of him taken during the hostage taking incident was published in Romer's column. Infuriated, he stormed the columnist in his office.  On his way out of the building, he saw Cindy as the latter was returning his motorcycle.  He confronted Cindy for stealing his motorcycle.  Alex left hugely disappointed and accidentally drops the tabloid he was holding.  Cindy picks it up and reads about the man's misfortunes.  She felt guilty for what she did and began to feel pity for him.

Cindy learns about what had happened to Alex's mom and pleads with her Tito Larry and Tita Diana to provide Thea financial assistance (the couple has a foundation). What she did not know is that Larry is Alex's father.

Thea went through the operation thanks to Cindy's help.  Alex returns the favor by teaching Cindy how to ride a motorcycle.  This is how the two became close and eventually will become lovers.

Alex learns how wealthy Cindy's family is and gets intimidated.  But because he loves Cindy so much, he figured he should strive hard to become rich and give Cindy the kind of life that she deserves. But Cindy came to him one day and told him that they CAN'T be together.

'Ina Kapatid Anak' Beats the Pilot Episode of 'Pahiram ng Sandali!'

 

ABS-CBN’s top caliber family drama series, “Ina Kapatid Anak” topbilled by Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, Enchong Dee and Maja Salvador trounced its newest rival program in GMA by almost 16 points.

Based on the data from Kantar Media on Monday (November 26), “Ina Kapatid Anak” garnered 32.9% national TV ratings, while the pilot episode of its latest competition "Pahiram ng Sandali” only got 17.5%. The Kapamilya series also ruled its timeslot last Friday (November 23) with 31.9% national TV ratings, or almost 14 points higher than the final episode of "Coffee Prince: Pinoy Version" which only got 18.2%.

Meanwhile, the plot of “Ina Kapatid Anak” continues to thicken now that Julio (Ariel Rivera) already found Teresa (Cherry Pie Picache). Will this be the start of more heated confrontations between their families? Will Teresa be forced to reveal Celyn’s (Kim) real identity or will she keep on hiding it?

Angel Locsin-Coco Martin Tandem in a TV Series Postponed, Erich Gonzales Replaces Angel in 'Juan Dela Cruz!'

The much awaited teamup of Angel Locsin and Coco Martin for the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye will not anymore prosper for the meantime! Angel then is replaced by Erich Gonzales as Coco's leading lading in the epic series "Juan Dela Cruz!"

Angel and Coco is supposed to be paired in the said fantaserye granting the wishing of million viewers. But due to certain circumstances, the 'dream love team' is postponed!       

According to reports, Angel is given a new teleserye this coming 2013 so she needs to pull out from this project. Hmmm...do you think this said TV series project for Angel is "Darna," "Imortal Part 2," or a fresh new teleserye?! 

You may recall that way back in 2010, Angel is supposed to be paired with Vhong Navarro in the fantaserye "Si Kokey @ Ako," but Angel was also pulled out and replaced with Toni Gonzaga since Angel was given a bigger TV series which was "Imortal" with John Lloyd Cruz. Now will history repeat itself in this case for "Juan Dela Cruz"?!

Meanwhile, Erich replaced Angel for this teleserye. And they were starting tapping for the series.

"Juan Dela Cruz" is supposed to be one of the entries to the MMFF 2012 but it was rejected along with 6 other scripts. Therefore, Deo Edrinal decided to put it instead in a TV series. 

"Juan Dela Cruz" will be ABS-CBN's opening salvo for 2013. It is helmed by Malu Sevilla.

Later on, Kevin confessed to Alan that he acquired the virus because of engaging in casual hook ups with his clients.

The movie is now a box-office hit! On its first day of showing last November 21, 2012, it earned a whooping Php10 Million! People were truly captivated by the movie!  

Well, I have list down the reasons why "24/7 in Love" is a good movie to watch and why people were falling in love with it.

1.) This is the very first time in Philippine Cinema that there is a movie with 7 Episodes! Before, we  used to love movie in trilogy or in 3 episodes (like the "Shake, Rattle, in Roll" series). Until Star Cinema started a movie with 5 episodes ("Cinco") and now they pioneered a 7-Episode movie via "24/7 in Love." It's another breakthrough in the history of Philippine movie industry!

2.) Another first movie which brings together the 15 biggest and the brightest stars of the country. Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, Angelica Panganiban, Bea Alonzo, Zanjoe Marudo, Xyriel Ann Manabat, Zaijan Jaranila, Maja Salvador, Diether Ocampo, Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Pokwang, Sam Milby, Gerald Anderson, and Kim Chiu were all in the leading roles! 9.) Aside from Piolo, Zanjoe Marudo was also given a challenging role in the movie as he played a gay-role in the movie. This is also his very first time to play the said role in the big screen although he was seen before playing gay characters in some segments of "Banana Splits."

10.) The movie pays tribute to the hit OPM music. Yes, some of the classic OPM love songs we used to love before were used as OST in the different episodes of the movie. Some of these were "Bakit Di Totohanin," "Mr. Cupido,"  and "Nanghihinayang."

12.) The country's most-love Prince of Indie Films turning Mainstream Primetime Actor Coco Martin has a special part in the movie. Though he only played a cameo role in the film, his character is very significant as he portrayed Dante. Loud screams followed when he appeared in one of the episodes of the movie.

Lebanon's Ali Hammoud is Mr. International 2012!

If Columbia is the Mister World 2012, Lebanon on the other hand is the Mr. International 2012. Ali Hammoud, a 23-year-old hunk model from Lebanon bested 37 other contestants to win the 7th Mister International title in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday, November 24, 2012.  

Ali is the 2nd Lebanese to win Mister International after Wissam Hanna‘s victory in 2006, which is also the first ever edition of this male pageant.

Meanwhile our very own delegate Mark Gutoman failed to enter the Top 16.

Philippine's Andrew Wolff is Mister World 2012 1ST Runner Up, Columbia Wins the Title!

It seems that the Philippines today is victorious in terms of male pageant. After our very own June Macasaet who just recently won the prestige Manhunt 2012 tittle in Bangkok, Thailand, here comes Andrew Wolff!

Andrew Wolff who is also a team member of the Philippine Volcanoes Rugby Team snatched the 1ST Runner title in the recently concluded final battle of Mister World 2012 Pageant held at the Kent County Showground in Kent, England, on November 24, 2012 (November 25 in Manila). 

Winning the 7TH Mister World title is Columbia's Francisco Escobar Parra. He bested the other 47 contestants from around the world.

The winners of the five Fast Track Events earned an automatic slot in the Top 10. One of them is PH’s Andrew Wolff, who was expected to win the Mister World Sports but was awarded the Mister World Multimedia Award instead.

"Angel Versus Angel" in 'One More Try,' Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban Battling in the Movie!

Two Angels will be witnessed in the exciting movie "One More Try,"  Star Cinema's official entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival. Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban lead the said movie with their respective leading men namely Zanjoe Marudo and Dingdong Dantes.

The characters of Angel and Angelica are rivals in the movie! They will battling for one man! Angel is actually married to the character of Zanjoe while Angelica to Dingdong. But because of a certain reason, Angel will be having an affair to Dingdong. It is for a child!

Surprise and excitements in the mood of the viewers filled the Cinema when the full trailer of "One More Try" was shown during the Premiere Night of "24/7 in Love." Loud screams filled specially when the killer lines between the lead casts were heard!  

Angelica's character is somewhat antagonist in the movie. She will put pain and suffering to the character of Angel. Angel on the other hand will do anything just to save the life of her only child!

What captured the attention of viewers was the last part of the trailer. This was when Angel said "Pahiram ng Asawa Mo" to Angelica! Louder screams followed!

If you think he is not part of the biggest Star Cinema movie of the year, well you're definitely wrong! Coco Martin is also present in the latest movie "24/7 in Love," the Star Magic's 20TH Anniversary offering which brings together the brightest and the biggest stars of the Kapamilya network! He played a cameo role in the movie!  

Coco is also one of the brightest talent of Star Magic therefore many were thinking why he is not part of the movie. But if you will watch the movie, you will see his part. 

Though Coco is only on cameo role, his character is very significant! He is the reason why the main character of one of the episodes is suffering. But in the end, he will complete the life of the said character and they will live happily ever after!

Gerald Anderson Sports a 'Bad Boy' Look for His Killer Role in 'OTJ,' His Movie Teamup with Piolo Pascual!

Gerald Anderson prepares his character for his upcoming action movie "On The Job" wherein he will play the character of a killer. Gerald shaved the sides of his head and a portion of his right eyebrow.

The movie is his first movie teamup with Piolo Pascual (though the two already starred together in the recently hit movie "24/7 in Love" in two different episodes).

Gerald and Piolo will play opposing roles in the movie. Gerald is Daniel, an inmate who will turn into a hitman/professional killer. Piolo on the other hand, plays the character of an NBI agent who will hunt Daniel. His character is torn between his duty, his conscience and his family.

It seems that a reunion of the "24/7 in Love" cast is taking place this Saturday in the country's No. 1 sitcom "Todamax!" Yup, three of the casts namely Sam Milby, Maja Salvador, and Kim Chiu are visiting Beverly Hills joining their co-star in the movie Pokwang.

The guesting of the three brightest Star Magic stars is part of the sitcom's one year anniversary offering. At the same time, the three are there to promote the latest Star Cinema movie "24/7 in Love." You may recall two weeks ago, Erich Gonzales and the tandem of Jessy Mendiola and Matteo Guidiceili also visited the show for the promo of "Suddenly It's Magic" and "Paraiso."

“Toda Max” won big in the PMPC Star Awards for Television recently after it received three awards out of its five nominations. The sitcom took home the Best Comedy/Gag Show Award, Best Comedy Actor Award for Robin Padilla and Best Comedy Actress Award for Pokwang. 

Robin and Pokwang’s co-nominees Vhong Navarro and Angel Locsin were delighted with the win of their co-stars. “Even though I didn’t win, just the thought of getting nominated for the Best Comedy Actress category is overwhelming for a first timer in comedy,” said Angel.

This is Robin’s first award in the comedy department while comedy veteran Pokwang has already received numerous awards in the same category.

“Even though I have received the same kind of award numerous times, I still feel surprised and overwhelmed at the support given to me. Thank you so much PMPC!” said Pokwang.

Robin also thanked PMPC and the sitcom’s loyal viewers. “It feels so great knowing that we already received two prestigious awards only after a year of airing,” he said. A big thank you to our viewers and to PMPC,” he said.

The sitcom received the same award from the Catholic Mass Media Awards recently.

Meanwhile, to continue the month-long anniversary of the sitcom, Direk Bobot Mortiz and Tirso Cruz III will visit Beverly Gil’s St. as Tatay Mac’s (Al Tantay) friends and band mates as well as Isabel’s (Angel) godfathers. The two will be excited to see Tatay Mac upon bumping into Isabel but the latter will inform her godfathers that her father still has a grudge towards them. Tol (Robin), Justin (Vhong), Isabel and Lady G (Pokwang) will try their best to reunite the three.
